When looking at the new cl entries in The Magazine I notice under the amenities it states, "Enhanced". What does this mean.

More than half those listed have this wording

I didn't know either so did the old ask a friend thing. He said it means the electricity is enhanced with drinking water. Make of that what you will. I reckon it might mean you get a water tap.

Could it be something to do with enhanced grass pitches - i.e. grass pitches with some sort of strengthened underlay?

New breed of enhanced CL. Site limit is now eight instead of five.

So far nobody knows, there is only one word, "Enhanced". No clues. Perhaps Rowena or even Maddie may throw some light on this on Monday

It might be quicker simply to ring one of the sites and ask!

Does seem to be something new. I am guessing it possibly means a tap per pitch. Can’t wait for the next category “ all done for you”😂

Enhanced means fully serviced or similar.  We have fully serviced pitches with ehu, water tap and grey waste disposal.  I would imagine the term also includes anything which is more than just ehu.  So ehu with water tap or ehu with grey waste disposal.

My CL description says 'enhanced' but personally I'd rather it said 'fully-serviced'.  The irony is that you can't search for 'fully-serviced' or 'enhanced' CLs on the search facility.

    Hope that helps.

Nicola if you are right then what a cocked had idea to call them 'enhanced'. As you say 'fully serviced' is understood by everybody.

You say your entry has enhanced pitches and yet a site I stayed on last year had 'service pitches'. So there doesn't seem to be any hard and fast rule to describe, which is a pity. CMHC are good at confusing.

Let's hope Huskydogs report to HQ gets some kind of clarification

I took it to mean "reinforced" which would avoid doubt but it just goes to show that choice of words for a description is important.

Clearly, without some kind of guide on the CL home webpage, or in the handbook, at the moment “enhanced” is rather meaningless. And as SBF explains, without being part of of the search preferences, pointless.

    Hi All,

Enhanced pitches would have Electric hooks and a water tap. Some of our sites also offer other extras on each the pitch (We have one which has a toilet block for each pitch!)

CL sites are still restricted to 5 pitches (sorry Eurotraveller!!)

    Thanks

    Maddie

    Hi All,

The sticky "Full Service CL's" does have a map of these CL's (Put together by a very helpful member) so may be of used to you.

I do not believe there is any plans to change the search facilities on the website at present but if this does come up in the future I will bring this up.

    Thanks

    Maddie

There again, Whittaker, I’d fully expect to pay more for enhanced facilities. Wouldn’t you?

Maddie, thanks for the explanation. However why two different subscriptions,  Fully Serviced or Enhanced, seems a bit odd.

That would depend on the enhancement and if it was something i required/needed/wanted.

I guess you wouldn’t go to the site if you didn’t want what was on offer or weren't happy with the price. Simples 😋

I’m afraid you guess wrong. Of course I’d go to the site if it was in a location that I wanted, which is my main criteria when booking a site, however if I didn’t want whatever “enhancements” were on offer I’d choose a standard if available.

    Hi Harryb

On page 23 of the Sites Directory Handbook there is an explanation of what a serviced pitch is. These terms are used on The Club sites.

A serviced pitch is generally all-weather surface and have electric hook up, drinking water and drainage for grey waste.

An enhanced pitch is a CL term as the sites may not offer all the additions of the serviced pitched. This term is advising each pitch offers electric hook ups plus at least one more facility (E.G drinking water). Where an enhanced pitch is advertised on our website, there should be a brief explanation describing what is available.

If you find any sites where the enhance pitch description is missing please email clresponse@camc.com and we will get it rectified.

    Thanks

    Maddie
