I suggest you start by looking at the French sites which the Club advertises and sells, because many of them are big, busy, commercial sites with organised activities. Click Overseas Holidays at the top of this page to find them. But there isn't one site which is best and if it's for this summer you will be limited to those with availability.
The best way to get there? Choose whether you want a long or a short channel crossing and go from there. With a large Motorhome and if you are short of time you will probably want to stick to motorways across France despite the expense.
I hope that helps as a starter.

Why go all the way south, drop him off at the Moulin Rouge in Paris he will have a whale of a time
As others say from Manchester its a day's drive just to get over there then another 2-3 to get right down, if he's interested in activities try maybe the Ardeche, Dordogne or other rivers where there are canoeing and other activities to keep him occupied. Look a the major site chains such as Yelloh, Castels etc. which have lots of activities on the larger sites.
