Browsing through the Premier League plan for 2019 - 20, I notice that they have given them a two week break in early 2020. Is this the first step in having a full winters break and Summer Soccer in England/Wales ??

    No. I think it’s all to do with holding the World Cup in Dubai. I can’t recall the whys and wherefore, but it was planned a few years ago when Dubai won the bribery (my apologies), the bid, to host it.☹️

    As for the World Cup, TTDA  - Think it might just be an excuse but we'll only find out in a further years time, when the next load of fixtures is published.

    The Dubai World Cup is going to run from Nov into Dec. Slap bang in the middle of most European league fixtures. It’s really well thought out by FIFA.🤬
