We are looking to visit the N.West Cumbrian area at the end of this month and wonder if any members know of sites that they can recommend. We already have had a recommendation for Crooklans Fm, Maryport. Any others would be most welcome and give us additional options.

We have stayed at Heather Bank near Silloth.

Very very nice CL, lots of space.  Cross over the road (some road noise) to the beach were you can walk for miles and miles.

Silloth is an unusual old fashioned town.

It was the first CL we visited on our return to caravanning and we have fond memories of our stay despite receiving a phone call to say our home had been broken into.

Thanks, Natasha, I've added it to the list for further scrutiny. I do wonder what you n=mean by Silloth being an old fashioned town?undecided

Not been for many years but I thought it was a dreary place. The weather was grim which probably didn't help.

West Cumbria is less crowded and just now the weather is great! Nice to stroll along the Esk and enjoy a view of Scafell. Hope you find a CL Nellie we've found the C&Cc site at Ravenglass has been a good base. Loads of walks direct from the site. smile

Cheers, brue. Still trying, as first one we tried was full.
