Travelling from Calais to Nantes
Hi, my wife and I will be travelling from Calais to Nantes on Saturday in our Motorhome and I'm looking for a midway point aire that we can stop overnight in on Saturday night and then finish of the journey to Nantes Sunday morning. Does anyone have any recommendations?

if heading for Nantes (and beyond?) any reason for crossing to Calais?
we use Nantes as our first stop when heading south for Spain but cross at Poole to Cherbourg.....from there it's half the time, distance and fuel cost....
our ferry crossing this spring was £140 so I guess the Calais one isn't much cheaper and the fuel and time saving would also tip the balance.
have you booked the ferry yet....?

Point taken, so perhaps an overnight here at Giverny to visit Monet's garden.

As said by others Honfleur is the obvious one that can be found easily and halfway to Nantes.
For a one night overnight stop with bars and restaurants nearby for the weary traveller, morning baguette deliveries on site, peaceful and safe overnight it's an easy option.
If you don't need facilities, your batteries will be fully charged and it doesn't go dark until around 10pm, then why look elsewhere.
You're on holiday - make life simple.

We stopped there and it was full up by teatime - no facilities or EHU but very quiet overnight - you may need Plan B if you get there later in the day.
And overpriced Restaurants .......

What about the aire at Mont St Michel and the free shuttle bus to the abbey?

Many thanks to all that has replied. We visited Honfleur last September so are looking to find somewhere else to stay.
Has anyone stayed at Aire Municipale, Beuvron en Auge ?
We are only traveling via Calais because I booked the tunnel crossing back in January but had not decided where to head for back then...but thanks for the advise anyway.

Try the Municipal campsite at 76940 La Mailleraye-sur-Seine, near to Le Havre and Honfleur, but 'off the beaten track' and alongside the River Seine. It's right on the boundary of the Parc Regional des Boucles de Seine - which has some beautiful timbered houses, as does the nearby Marais Vernier. We explored the area for a few hours whilst 'killing time' waiting for a ferry at Le Havre and it's not far away from the A13 autoroute.
Or try the municipal site at Jumieges, in the same area.0
