Holyhead Port
Hi all,
We are booked on the 02.30 ferry to Dublin and need some advise as to laying up with the van before boarding.
Are we able to arrive at the docks at 10 ish in the evening and park - we have a caravan.
Failing that any advise on where we can safely park up to get a few hours sleep? We are travelling with kids.
Many thanks.

Is that with Stenaline? Their previous ferry is at 2030 so you can arrive at any time after that and line up in a queue at the port - but that 0230 departure from Holyhead and an 0545 arrival at Dublin is brutal timing if you are travelling with children.

Yep Stena - saved us a fortune so we decided it was a risk worth taking.
The kids tend to sleep well in the car and we have a cabin booked for the crossing.
Also a good drive on the other-side where they can chill and sleep.
Have you done it then?

Sorry no, it's not a sailing I would choose.
The fare for a daytime crossing may indeed be dearer, but add on the cabin cost for your night crossing and are you saving money? And you will barely have the cabin for three hours before they turf you out.
But you are younger than I am !
