Pont-Aven - Latest news
Brittany Ferries have added a new page, with the title above, to their website. It was added on the 23/5 and has been updated a number of times with the latest being yesterday as follows;
28 May 2019
Regretfully we have been advised Pont-Aven will not resume service before 14 June, as a consequence, we are in the process of contacting affected clients in departure date order, prioritising those with the most imminent departures and offering them a choice between a reroute when available or full cancellation.
We apologise for the disruption caused, if your sailing has been affected you will receive notification from our Customer Services team, they will endeavour to find an alternative date. If you prefer to cancel your booking and make alternative arrangements we will provide a full refund for any bookings due to travel between now and 14 June – please email refund@brittanyferries.com
As this means our sailing has been cancelled we looked at our options, which were not great due to the unavailability of cabins and departure times that were unsuitable, and contacted the club travel service this morning.
They have just called to say that my requested alternative has been booked, and with no increase to the price even though we will now have a better grade of cabin, which we are very grateful for.
It took the club over an hour to get through to BF to request and make the changes so anyone affected is probabest advised to make contact as soon as possible.

It is not possible to phone BF as their lines are permanently engaged. It is only possible for contact via email, which is not the best way given the urgency of some requests.

I did,very early yesterday out of curiosity, try to use the BF website by inputting my booking reference but got a message saying to call them.
Once the clubs phone lines opened I called with the result I posted earlier.

To complete he story, a lady from Brittany ferries rang us in Spain on June 1st and transferred us to the Cap Finisterre which is sailing on the day after the Pont Aven was due to sail. It appears that there is little faith in the PA returning to service by 14th June.

Glad you are sorted.
