Lake Geneva
We are off in 2 weeks to Lac Annecy.
Husband not keen on venturing into Switzerland due to vignettes, just wondered if its worth finding a site on the south bank in France for a few days, and to take trips around the lake for a look. Any suggestions or warnings will be welcome! We have a fairly big single axle caravan and a Volvo XC70.
If not where else shall we go, we have a month away , done Med coast and West coast of France. Need inspiration!

Before Lake Geneva go to Chamonix and ride its cable cars - the big one just for sight seeing high in the snow and ice, the others as access to high level walks. Then on your way from there over to Lake Geneva pause at Samoens and Fer a Cheval. There are good campsites at all those places though I can't help with the south side of Lake Geneva itself - we went once a long time ago but were never tempted back.

And you can also ride on the Mont Blanc Express - a narrow gauge train which goes in stunning scenery over the mountains from Chamonix to Martigny in Switzerland - with 16 intermediate stops and a change of train at the border.

Don't forget BOB. (Bernese Oberland Bahn) for train travel in the area and up the wee hills.
Don't let the modest cost of the vignettes put you off from travelling in Switzerland. I well remember eating my eggs and bacon on toast breakfast looking at Jung Frau across the lake whilst at Interlaken.
Enjoy your trip.
