Touring in North West Spain

We will arrive in Bilbao on 4th June and have a few nights booked at the excellent site in Haro in the Rioja region.  After that we plan to head west through Castile and Leon, towards Galicia and/or northern Portugal, but there seems to be a distinct lack of campsites, either Club sites, or in the ACSI book.  Does anyone have any recommendations, please?

As well as the sites in listed their book, ACSI has a much longer list - sites which they have inspected and approved but are not in their site guidebook because they are not giving discounts. You can find them on the ACSI Eurocampings website with an interactive map showing locations, or download the list in the form of an app. Either way there are 293 sites to choose from in northern Spain. Not as many as elsewhere, but enough.

Click on the link below and it should take you to a blog I wrote whilst touring Northern Spain. It includes information on sites we used. Most of which were ACSI.

It's a lovely area and different from the rest of Spain in so many ways.

I've just re read the blog and it brought back many happy memories. It was a wonderful trip. I often think about Terry and June.  Let me know if you need any more information.  I did leave reviews on the ACSI and CC sites . There are also more up to date reviews of the sites we stayed on at Camping UK.
