Turtle doves only spend a few weeks of the summer in the UK, you may see them in parts of Kent, Essex and Sussex. Some breed as far north as Yorkshire.

    There are a couple at RSPB Titichwell in Norfolk at the moment.

    One of the problems is the mass shootings by the Southern Europeans.  Malta licenses people to shoot quail but in the first week of shooting over 23+ turtle doves were shot even though they are a protected species.  We know that millions of migrating birds are slaughtered in France, Spain, Italy etc. etc..
