Camping Riva Bella

Does anyone know if Riva Bella at Ouistreham stays open for campers arriving from the 2.45pm ferry from Portsmouth (9.30pm)? We haven’t used the site since it was taken over and not sure if they stay open like the previous municipal, Les Pommiers did.

From 29 March to 3 November, yes. Best to book to speed up the admission formalities.

Yes it does. If you book in advance they meet you at the gate, tick off on a clipboard and send you straight to your pitch. Well worth booking just for the speedy arrival!

Remember to bring a torch, as lighting is poor if its dark when you arrive

Thank you all for your replies.

Hi Lagerorwine 😉. How did you book site? I rang Riva Bella but told they don’t take bookings over the phone- was emailed a form but didn’t fancy putting full credit card details on form and I’m not able to scan form to send back by email, also says 15 Euro booking fee. Just thought I would ask you before emailing or ringing the site again.

    Many thanks

Puffball, as you are a Club member the Club will make the booking for you. You can do it on line on this website today or phone Club HQ when they re open after the Bank Holiday.

I booked Riva Bella through the club (outward and return) as 2 of the 4 nights required for my ITX ferry package.

Yes it does - see my review of the site. In April 2019 we had to ring a bell - arrived off the 21.30 arrival from Portsmouth. The owner/warden came down immediately and checked us in. Very helpful and friendly.

Thank you again for your replies, and now I know to ring the bell if there is no one about and I can use my ASCI card to get a cheaper price. Previously we have  just turned up when the site was Les Pommiers and the office was always open to receive units from the late Portsmouth ferry. Have a good trip everyone 😊

I'm possibly alone in this but I preferred it when it was Les Pommiers. It always felt more relaxed and uncrowded - possibly because many British caravanners shunned it and went elsewhere.
