Please don't. The Canaries are just not geared up for Motorhomes and they are becoming an increasing problem for locals and visitors alike across all the larger islands.

Aside from this unless you are going for a very long time its just not worth the cost.

We holiday in Lanzarote every year and have notice more and more MH's over there. I think there is only 1 site on Lanzarote, most seem to wild it. Not sure how they get on with fresh water or toilet emptying, I don't even want to guess.

I believe the ferry is from Cadiz but it is very expensive I'm told. As Tenerife is much bigger than Lanzarote I would think there is more provision for MH's undecided

We have friends who have lived there for 28 years, the last time we were visiting there were many MH's wild camping and causing a lot of public nuisance where they were parked. Our friends told us that the local authorities were looking to clamp down on the situation.

As said, moving a vehicle to and from mainland Spain is very expensive.

Thanks for your replies they are very helpful

we really wanted to do Tenerife but if there are only 1/2 campsites we need to consider it more closely .we are certainly not wildcampers

" .we are certainly not wildcampers "

i was going to suggest hiring a van on the island, bit of the above is true and there are so few sites....?

weve seen vans on all the islands and certainly 'impromtu' is the way most do it...

The ones I saw were just parked in local car parks like these two.
