Eurotunnel refund
In November last year I booked our usual 2 month trip to the South of France through the CMC. Eurotunnel required full payment of £190.63 in advance. In February this year I was diagnosed with advanced prostate cancer and the treatment meant that the booking had to be cancelled. Eurotunnel has flatly refused to make any refund and point to their small print saying "no refunds". I have pointed out that the Competitions and Markets Authority has recently warned the travel industry that such blanket exclusions contravene the Unfair Contract Terms Act, so far to no avail. My only recourse now is to sue the CMC for a refund and they in turn must seek redress from Eurotunnel. Additional stress I can do without right now.

So sorry to hear of your illness. But think positive - medical treatment these days is good, and you can amend your Eurotunnel ticket to a date in the future when you will be fit again to travel. Good wishes to you.

Sorry to hear of your health problem. ET's suggestion is one option worth thinking about. Have you been in touch with the Club to seek assistance? They might be able to speak to Eurotunnel on your behalf?

Good advice from ET and DK.
Personally, although I can understand how aggrieved you feel, I’m not sure it’s worth putting yourself through the stress and expense of suing.
Good luck.

I have to agree with Tinwheler. If i was in the same situation a £200 train ticket would be the last thing i would be worried about.
I wish you well for the future.

Isn't that for deposits?? I am guessing like us you chose the cheapest ticket so I would say it was not onerous however your travel insurance would cover this assuming you have some?
