Camping Travel Club card

Hi All,  I still have the old Camping Cheques card, which seems to have migrated over to the Camping Travel Club. I don’t have any outstanding credits but I simply would like to know how it now operates in 2019 following the changes. Do I simply present my card like the ACSI system?

Anyone out there know the answer?  I’ve even tried calling the Camping Travel Club phone line but got cut off!

Thanks

If you don't have any outstanding credits, and because you can't now load any more money on to that card - I think you can throw it away .

Yes, agree with ET above; it no longer has any use or value, so one less card to carry!

A search for Camping Travel Club brought this INFO  When you then search for My Club Vacances Select it appears to come up with Canvas Holidays.

So it's definitely the demise of the Camping Cheque scheme, it was good in its heyday, but ACSI is a very good scheme too, have used it for years.

    Thank you for your responses.

I have used ACSI for many years, highly recommended!

As far as the Camping Travel Club in concerned, there is a website for pitches and it is possible to book online at favourable rates.

So it may not be dead as suggested. The change is effective from January 2019 so its early days and it is not yet clear what happens if one turns up at a listed site for a pitch. How do we get our discount?

I think that I'll simply have to find out during my travels. Any progress and I'll post it for all.  Thanks again.

I think you will find the Camping Travel Club website prices are for those people who are using up the last of the credits on their gold or silver cards during 2019, but as you say you will be able to check that out when you get there.

This seems to be the last information available

    LOOK HERE

It looks like they only offer caravan/tent accommodation

Yes Harry, that's the same link I posted further up thread.  Hence my observation that Camping Cheques as we knew them, are dead, because that link then seems to go on to a scheme called My Club Vacances Direct, which, when googling that, leads to Canvas Holidays?

I'll just stick with ACSI and good old municipal sites, plenty of choice!
