2 Day Stop off between Royan and St Malo

Can anyone suggest a caravan site between Royan & St Malo that we could stay at for two nights? We do not want to use more than one site as we already will stop off in St Malo. We have stayed at the Nantes municipale site a few times, and are looking for something different, with something to see or do.

If you would like to see a different city then you could either visit Angers or Rennes, both have impeccable campsites. Or alternatively go straight up to Camping Haliotis at Pontorson to visit Mont St Michel.

Hi Mr H, how about Le Puy Du Fou?

Adds about 30 miles to the journey, is just under halfway and has two sites within a short distance??

We visited last year and will be again this year, with friends for two days, and can thoroughly recommend.

We love La Fleche. It is just about half way.  An impeccable Municipal camp site on the banks of the river.  La Fleche is a lovely little town a short walk from the campsite.  It is well worth a visit.

Would agree with both milliehull and eurotraveller.

We stayed La Fleche last year and would do so again lovely town and area.

Anger is also one of our favourites, lovely site next to a big country park with cycling/walking along the river into the town.

Both sites are in the Acsi book.

we came across La Fleche many years ago on one of our earliest trips and loved it...

Haliotis is another lovely site, nice bike ride up to Le Mont.

Yes totally agree. Will be using La Fleche this year again, from St. Malo its 140 miles, en route to the south of France.

Used Haliotis in Pontorson  again last year on way home.

Can recommend and won't be disappointed.

    Another one for Angers.

If you don't mind slightly off track then Vannes might be worth considering. The town is pretty especially if you go on market day, if not the you could take a day trip out to one of the islands in the Golfe de Morbihan. Boats leave from nearby.

What about a stop in the Venice Vert, camping Venice Vert near Coulon is very nice  although somewhat nearer Royan than St Malo.  La Fleche is nice but along way off route from Royan to St Malo. As an aside Royan to St Malo is easily doable in a day.

don't know where specifically you're staying but we've been to Royan quite a few times and had a short stop there on the way back from Portugal a couple of weeks ago....

we stayed at St Palais sur Mer and there is a lovely promenade stroll. also the cucLe pathetii goes all the way to the far end of St Georges de Didonne and it's a great ride.

    opposite direction out to Palmyre...

    enjoy.

Thank you for all your responses. We will certainly look at La Fleche. BoleroBoy, we go to Royan each year to St Palais Sur Mer and this is where we will start our return journey home. We will go from St Malo straight down to Royan in one go, but like a leisurely journey back.

About half way is Tours- interesting city and in Chateaux country. There is a nice  simple Municipal at Vouvray a few km to the NE that might fit the bill for you.
