And this is why you need a good weight ratio

Looks to me to a case of wrong trailer for the type of load, looks like a twin axle car transporting trailer with a wooden building strapped on it. Probably well over the cars capacity as you say.

If looks like a small static caravan of beach hut to me and far too heavy a load for the car. Look how low the back end of the car is!

The cars possibly sitting that low because the load has shifted forward. It looks like there maybe some axle stands under the load on the trailer bed as well. Not surprising it ended in tears

I sincerely hope they were prosecuted. There are some fools out there on the roads. I once shared an office with an idiot who towed a twin axle six berth to NW with a 1.2 Ford hatchback of some sort. Told us he barely got above 30mph, and this was on M6. Needless to say he sold the van, mainly to fund repairs to his car if I recall.

Anyone else see a punctured rear tyre on the tow vehicle and the mudguard on the trailer bent between the tyre and the chassis? Does look as if there has been a coming together of some sort.

I don't think so, there's no other damage to the car. I would say the load moving on the trailer has done the damage to the mudguard.
