No idea why you keep labouring under the misapprehension that others miss the points of your posts. My response was not related directly to this thread. I shan't labour too hard to explain further as I have family health matters of concern and no interest in jousting at present BB.

then don't post a response to me that's so wide of the mark that I'll 'joust' with you, ....

not my intention, merely to correct your view....and that of the plus one ers....

So please concentrate on more pressing matters but if you're prepared to take the time out to post, you must be prepared for a reply...?

David, you're right in your summation, from an ergonomic perspective, it's certainly the worst club site we've used....

we went there for the location, which we we enjoyed, yet the site itself really was a let down, and (unsurprisingly) not cheap...

long overdue for a 'proper' revamp, not just a better MHSP or some Pods...undecided

of course, with just a MH on a pitch, we fitted without issue, but the cars strewn along the edge of most pitches (sometimes sloppily parked) made site navigation (for MH and caravans) more awkward than it should have been.

It’s certainly a site we shall avoid. It does rather sound as though the Club is trying to cram in as many pitches as it can at this popular site. Whilst I have no doubt that not being able to use an awning will put off many visitors, especially those who are staying a while and might need the extra space, the precedent of totally none awning has been made at Old Hartley, probably for different reasons, but it doesn’t seem to put folks off visiting there.

I have said for a while now that the Clubs pitching wasn’t what it used to be, and in some cases pitch spaces seem tight. We put it down to larger outfits, larger awnings and the more fixed position of hardstandings. There are a few pitches we have had to use at different sites that totally put us off the sites in the past.

Went there year before last and thought it was fine ? had a pitch opposite the playing field entrance.  Going again at the end of April, have booked a pitch and a Pod for a week. It will be interesting to see for myself and find out if all this negativity if founded or not cool

We are here now ,and to be fair I don't think it's as bad as some members portray , yes there are some pitches that are tight ,but in the main it's no worse than a lot of other CMC sites ,all the pitches are the required 6m apart , and I would say that the site is a good 80% full ,so it must be OK for some !!

That's what I suspect HD. FYI if looking for somewhere to eat. We found last time that the Black bear pub was OK but on the opposite side of the road there is a much nicer place, cant remember the name? it maybe a hotel as well? very dog friendly and gives a discount to club members cool

    Enjoy your stay cool

We all have our own views Husky. As a caravanner, having to pitch in front of the caravan is a turn off straight away when there are better sites in the general area. We may be using Broadway in May and Burford in July

Not trying to push my views on anyone ,I respect other people's views , but at least you have stayed here so you know the pros and cons of the site

Never thought you were trying to push your views HD, jut voicing them.

For me there are no significant pros. It is handy for M-in-M but as part of a 5 day stay I would only find that a convenience once. In a similar vein Broadway is handy for Broadway and Burford for the wildlife park across the road. wink

Not generally a fan of Zoos but I did visit Cotswolds Wildlife Park a few years back and enjoyed it

Yeah, we stayed at Burford last October and enjoyed the wildlife park. There’s a great garden centre just outside Burford too. Burford itself is nice, but parking can be an issue.

Over there we often have to park the car in front of the van, so it’s pretty normal for us

Larger outfits these days compared to those of the past on the older sites in the network can at times cause problems MiM is not alone in that respect

The commercial site we stay at each November has the same problem on some pitches, and the site staff admit some are tight but are still 6mtr clearance but not deep enough for todays it seems "mine is bigger than yours" attitude,,so cars are parked elsewhere  if an awning is wanted, And this commercial site has just won the best Holiday park in the UKsurprised

In the past unless things have changed a lot we have had to park in front of our van especially in Italy

I thought that I would price up a pod at Moreton in Marsh for the daughter, hubby and 2 kids for 2 nights.  At £178 I think it is cheaper for them to buy a tent!

I thought the cost would be around £120 for the two nights.  Just gobmacked!

In addition, it seems that you cannot book a pitch and also a pod at the same time even if you are a member?

But you can't book two outfits at the same time either?

    HD

As someone who is critical of the site even I don't think it is "bad", just not up to the standard of many other Club sites. Like me you are in a motorhome so we have the advantage. Someone with just a car and caravan would tend to find it OK. However if you are struggling to get car/caravan/awning on a pitch it is a different matter and I think you need to think about it from that perspective in terms of how the site should be rated.

BTW have they started the work on the motorhome service point yet?

Walking round the site ,those with car ,caravan and awning have got them on the pitch but not in the usual way like other sites all in a row , so yes it does fall down on that situation

in the last 3 days there has been a small digger that has dug a hole about 2ft square next to the service point but the .M/H point is still in use ,at this rate it will be next season before it's finished wink

But the point of the pods is so that friends & family can join you

To quote Rowena .... One of the key driving forces behind our Experience Freedom product and Glamping pods at Moreton-In-Marsh was to enable members’ family and friends without an outfit of their own to accompany them during their trips and holidays

and they still can, you just book them separately. It is not difficult, I have done it. Check, book one then the other. You can even do it almost at the same time on two screens.

When staying nearby with the caravan a couple of years back, we popped in to MiM to "case the joint" but were not particularly impressed, it's only attraction being the proximity of the town. Given the space constraints, perhaps it is an ideal candidate for a motorhome aire. wink

Having recently spent a couple of nights at M in M site IMHO it is looking well used and is at least in need of some pitch re-defining/chippings to some areas.
