Water problems

Hi

Just got on site 

I cannot get pump to run 

Truma sureflow I think 

Van is a Coachman 575 vip 2015.

Tried a direct 12v feed onto external pump it runs fine  

There is a flat topped round thing just inside 

With battery feed +&- plus a lead to the pump 

Bottom of it fits onto cold water feed. 

Fuses OK 

As pump starts for a second then cuts out  

Any hell much appreciated

    Hi JPOSH, it sounds like the 12v line is breaking down somewhere- probably due to corrosion or a bad connection. The pump is OK as you know. The Fuse is OK- A multi meter to check voltage may assist finding where the fault is. We don’t all carry multi meters though! I am about to pick up my New Coachman 575 so I’d be interested in any solutions found!

    I had a similar problem last year.  Found that it was a little corrosion on the contacts.  A good clean with sand paper, a spray with WD40 and bending  the contacts slightly with pliers to improve the contact did the trick.  Also ensure pump is securely locked in position to caravan, it might just be slipping out and readjust the pressure control - your handbook should tell you how to do this simple operation.

    Hi all 

    Had a good look about this morning 

    I can pull a12v  feed off the truma smart switch then re-attach and pump runs for a second or two then cuts out again. 

    Faulty smart switch?

    Hi all

    it seems like the smart pressure switch has packed in  

    Spoke to a caravan technician who then spoke to truma and they've not really heard of one packing in. So hopefully £60 odd will sort it 

    Less than a 5 minute job, very easy
