Marseillan Plage -Campsites
We have stayed at Camping Robinson at Marseillan Plage before but wondered if anyone has expereice of the other campsites in the town? I was wondering about Beauregard Plage which seems to be nearest to the town centre. Our unit is a 7.5mts motorhome. A
possible alternative is Cavalaire-sur-Mer. We possibly going in mid September. Would prefer sites where we can walk to places.

Hello David
We are planning a trip to Marseillan Plage in May, and also like to walk/bus to places. I have sent an email today to the Beauregard campsite asking how close is a bus stop to go to Marseillan centre. If anything informative comes back will post it.

Sorry David
Didn't look at the posted date so you were no doubt sorted!

Perhaps I should update my original post as we did go to Marseillan Plage in 2015. We arrived at Beauregard Plage in Marseillan Plage late afternoon, we have problems on the A75 as we had to take a detour. The site was full but they suggested we parked on the car park which also had EHU overnight as there was bound to be space the next day. However we looked around the site and decided that our then 7.5 metre motorhome would struggle to get on some pitches so decided to leave and we had a nice week at Camping Robinson. Initially we had wanted to be nearer the town.

The C&MC do a guide to Touring France, with details of around 3,000 campsites, but there are over 9,000 sites in France so quite a lot are not listed in that guide! However, many of the sites listed have reviews given by C&MC members.
There is a Le Guide Officiel de Camping Caravanning (yes that's the correct title) which is published by Camping France, which does actually contain details of ALL campsites in France, but gives only brief details.
The ACSI Guide doesn't give reviews but the ACSI website (www.campingcard.co.uk for ACSI Card discounted sites and www.eurocampings.co.uk for all ACSI inspected sites) does publish reviews so generally people use a mix of things to find sites and find reviews.1 -
i realise that this post is going on four years old, but in the time, the French haven't moved Cavalaire sur Mer any closer to Marseillan Plage, have they?
is it really a 'possible alternative' (which usually refers to somewhere in the same area...) when it's 300+ km to the east and a five hour non toll trip?
theres aa chance we will be in that (Cavalaire) area later in the year, but I don't see Maresillan as an alternative....
however, CSur M is a lovely place and great for strolling in the marina area bars and restaurants....

Originally it was a decision on whether to return to Marseillan Plage or to try Cavalaire-sur-Mer where the journey would have been totally different, it wasn't a choice of either or on the day! Obviously going to Cavalier would have involved a totally different route plan. The post was made during our planning of the trip not when we were en route.

ah, sorry David, certainly not clear from this small OP, perhaps there were other, earlier, ones in which this came up? not an issue, though.
however, if you are down that way (Cavalaire) it's really nice and has become a goto spot for us, albeit at a different (secret) site.
certainly worth the visit, even if passing throught to other areas..
