I do hope the Dutch have been informed of the new speed limits in France...always fly past me on the Autoroutes...

The French will probably be using the monies collected from these older speeding offences, to refurbish all those burnt out cameras the 'gilet jaunes' protesters damaged.

Just be careful the towing speed limit applies when the vehicle has a plated GTW [Gross Train Weight] of over 3.500 tonnes.

It is not, for anyone towing, the GVW, nor the actual gross train weight, at that moment, it only needs a be vehicle with the capability.

Now there are vehicles with GTW rating sub 3500 kgs, but many vehicles caravanners will have would be above that 3500 kgs GTW. Therefore, if they towed a light camping trailer and were running way under 3500 kgs overall, they still are speed limited to 90 kph, or 56 mph.

An absolute pain with the lorries if one religiously keeps to the law as they can often over run their governors by quite a bit.

I have also just received a speeding ticket for an offence committed 20th September last year. As per a previous post, I was clocked at 87kph in a 80 zone.  They allow you 5kph so the offence is recorded as 82. Same penalty as above, 68 euros reducing to 45 euros for prompt payment, increasing to 180 euros for late payment.

I didn’t see a camera, but I have no dispute that I was on the road in question. Simply by looking at the dates on my holiday photos I know that I was travelling on that road at that time.

Definitely sounds like the French are having a big catch-up exercise.
