DOH! and there was I thinking I'd solved it myself...........................

I have a strong suspicion Pump King has been hacked. Would recommend everyone transfers all of their funds out of the account that PK have details for. If you have online banking, this should only take a few minutes and its better to be safe than sorry.

Does anyone know what is happening with the Pump King website? My husband has had over 30 text messages from them this morning - all the same. We have tried to contact them to see what is going on. But when we have tried to go on their website, it comes up as no site detected.

Terrible company to deal with. I've had over 70 texts this morning.
(9-3-18)
Their website is down (again) and from the looks of the front page, it may have been hacked. I would suggest to anyone that uses this company to keep an eye on their registered payment card, as details may have been stolen.
Texts are still arriving as I type this, very annoying as I have had to put my phone on silent. I haven't found a way of blocking them yet on an iPhone. Usually you can add to a contact and block it but that hasn't worked for me. They are using the following number to text.
7867 5464. Probably why it cannot be blocked.
This company is nothing but trouble and I would avoid at all cost.
Just look at their reviews onTrustPilot. (especially this morning)

Some weeks ago I opened a specific account just for the Esso card with only £10 in it with the intention of putting just enough money in for any fuel purchase. At that time I changed the debit card details with PK.
Over the last two weeks I have repeatedly asked PK to confirm that all the old card details have been removed from their data and also from that held by any others within or outwith the EU that they have shared it with. To date no response received.
After this mornings fiasco I have lost all confidence that PK are competent to hold any sensitive data and have warned my bank that the old debit card details (my day to day current account) may have been compromised. They immediately blocked that card and issued new ones to myself and my OH. The £10 account has also been closed. I respectfully suggest that others may consider doing the same.
As far as PK are concerned, they are a bunch of incompetent fools and I for one want nothing more to do with them.
In any case the "discount" rate is no saving at all even against the local Esso garage.
Perhaps CAMC should come to the same conclusion!

After the debacle of cards not arriving for months, multiple texts 58+ and counting this morning so far and the website disappearing, our chat on this was locked on the main discussion pages.
Can anyone:
1. Confirm as to whether our data has been compromised by a cyber hack at Pump-King please? I have tried to contact them via e-mail but am awaiting a reply. My concern is our debit card details are retained by the company. I'm assuming the Club has more clout and can ascertain this quickly.
2. Confirm as to whether the club does any due diligence on the companies providing these offers for example on data safety, ability to fulfil the offers being provided, etc. Can you confirm please?
I do appreciate the offers and have availed myself of them in the past, but this one is slowly turning into a farce.
Thanks.

Call your bank and have that card for which PK have details, blocked.

It's unlikely that they've been hacked. More likely that they've realised that a new piece of code they released to the live environment in the last few days has gone haywire, and they've taken the easy way of taking the live site down whilst they investigate.
But ... they seem chaotic and don't seem to do enough testing. As that lax attitude could well include skimping on penetration testing I'd tend to assume that your data could be breached at some point.
I've missed out - I only received 43 texts!!!

E-mail to cancel Pump-King card.
Bank regular payment cancellation form completed online.
Replacement debit card requested from my bank - thank goodness my spouse has an additional debit card on the same account.
Seriously unimpressed. Imagine if you were abroad and had to pay to receive texts outside your plan.

Thank goodness the other threads have been locked. 👏🏻👏🏻
It’s hard enough trying to keep up with this one without having 3 of them to follow.

I see no evidence of hacking. The landing page iss simply error 561 from Pantheon (the PK hosting provider).
https://pantheon.io/docs/errors-and-server-responses/
Of course, any company who really knew what they were doing would have a 'site down for maintenance' page up there instead. But I don't see PK as terribly competent.

I agree, and the error appears, I would guess because they pulled the plug on the server to stop the multi texts.
I have just had another, single text, so they may well be working towards getting everything up and running again later today..

Good afternoon,
there have been problems with the third-party text deployment service used to notify users of next week’s fuel prices which may have resulted in multiple text messages being sent to some users.
We have been notified that the issue is now resolved.
We sincerely apologise for any inconvenience caused.
Have a good weekend.

Who are you, please?

Hi everyone.. Just posting the official response from the CAMC..
"There have been problems with the third-party text deployment service used to notify users of next week’s fuel prices which may have resulted in multiple text messages being sent to some users. We have been notified that the issue is now resolved. We are working with the suppliers to investigate and will post a status update on Monday. We sincerely apologise for any inconvenience caused."
Thanks to Graham from CAMC for his response.

I found their website was live again - 1500hrs. I went straight on and cancelled my account.
I am unhappy about trusting the company with my debit card details.
Besides I found the fuel prices being offered were not competitive, even being undercut by my local Esso station.

Thankyou, David. I feared we had an infiltrator as the poster is not shown as 'Staff'.

Me too.
Pump-King card cancelled - can't waste anymore time on them. Payment and debit card cancelled at Bank, new card to come.
Someone has already mentioned to me their mobile text service has charged them as they are abroad.
Weird that the website had gone down if it was just a third party text deployment service that caused the error. Perhaps it was overload of enquiries?
Big thanks to Social-Admin Team for the update.

... and two more texts in the last 20 minutes since I closed my account. So not quite resolved yet!

When this card was made available I went through the signing process up to the point of finding out that it had to be linked to a bank account instead of a credit card account so never actually applied for it. I still got the texts though. One a month I could quite happily ignore but today I received 48 😂😂😂

I would like some guidance on how to cancel this service. Pump-King's website does not provide any guidance and does not reply to emails.
I have not used it at all and don't expect that i will now - the prices being offered are nothing special in return for my account and personal data.
Legally, they have to comply with Data Protection legislation which states they need to offer a way to cancel their service and give me some confidence that they've Deleted User my data.
Why would the club promote this company? I've looked up PK Fuel, is owned by a single person and has declared assets of £1. WTF?
