So what did the Club ever do for Motorcaravanners?

not in my area these notices are going up in most if not all of our car parks, and the use of height barriers is now much more prevalant, although in 1 car park they have created a number of bays specifically for use by vehicles over 2.2m which are pay and display and no habitation.

I corrected your misunderstanding, David.

Superb post, Ocsid.👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Sums it up nicely and is what some of us have been saying since the start of the thread.

well we have had some MH's who think it is their devine right to 2 pitches, 1 for the said MH and 1 to park their pinic gear, this is an attempt to deter this practice, not sure how but there you go. However, on these particular pitches there is a very nice field just over the bank which makes a very nice picnic place, it is our show ground and well protected by height barriers and high natural banks to deter our less than desirable campers.

we know what they are, they are a cheap place to stop at.
What we are discussing is who pays to provide them? and why should the club use club money from all its members to provide something that will not benefit all its members, or rather is not open to all its members.
Try and think of it this way. At the moment all members can use any pitch at any club site. What is being proposed is the reverse.

Well, StuartO, look what you started!
What do you think now - has your view changed having seen both sides of the debate?

You’ve moved the goalposts there.

sorry, been driving this morning....just arrived at the beautiful aire overlooking Gib harbour....
only 3m one side and perhaps 2m the other but a fine location...not for you, or Corners or Tinny or Easy.....shame as its lovely.
...oh, and BTW, I don't jump when you ring the bell....not in class now

I wonder why you posted at all, BB, seeing you don’t intend to respond properly to M.
It couldn’t be just to have another dig at those of us who prefer not to pitch in car parks, surely?

you don't have a MH now but you could in the future

I could paint in a lot of overnighting bays (for ALL members) on the existing car parks for £150k

...but the waste and water points are already on the sites, along with the wonderful redeveloped MHSPs...
no electric required, water and waste already in place...
as I said, a pot of paint and the desire to kick something off and trial it is all that's needed....

What car parks? Not all sites have them or were you referring to LA spend?
Anyway, I don’t begrudge the kiddies having a playground. Their parents might be motorhomers or caravanners or tenters, or even non-members.

very possibly but then I wouldn't expect any special treatment in a club that caters for both.
If I were that selfish I would do as M suggests and join, or form a MH only club

brilliant idea,
hang on you mean keep things the way they are now?

yes I used to get that reply in class, usually from those that had no answer or couldn't be bothered to do any work, and wanted others to do their work for them
Oh, just like providing these cheap pitches?
