Bohemian Rhapsody
Can highly recommend this film about the band Queen. It covers the period from 1970 to 1985 (Live Aid) and follows the trials and tribulations they suffered as a band during that period. It is not a biopic of Freddie Mercury (although sometimes appears so). The cast are exceptional in their roles and the film makes you laugh, cry, sing, cheer and at the end want to see it all again.
Following this we also went to the see Roger Taylor's Queen Extravaganza at the Bonus Arena in Hull last night which was fantastic. The band were brilliant, in particular the drummer who sang a couple of numbers in place of the lead singer. A 3 song encore finished the evening for us. Can recommend it if you are a Queen fan

We saw it last week. Fabulous film. I felt very emotional at the end. Definitely something that needs the big screen though.

Fantastic film. No need to say any more. The above posts say it all.

I was at school with Brian May so, of course, had to see the film. Interestingly, at the beginning of the film they talked about the lead singer of Smile who was “Tim” who was actually Tim Staffell (see Wikipedia). Tim was at the same school and I briefly played rhythm guitar for him in his previous group The Railroaders. Fame and fortune eluded me as you may guess!

Went to see it this afternoon. Excellent film although I thought immensely sad. I know we all know the story but it does portray this very well. Funnily enough it was one of the few films I have been to where people actually stayed until the end of the credits!

I've noticed that film credits are getting longer than the films these days.

Much better in the cinema - great sound in there

Not seen the film but we love Queen, have their music playing every week at home and in the car. All tremendous musicians. Freddy’s last album tugs at the heart strings like no other. How prophetic is “Who Wants To Live Forever”
My favourite image of him is shoving that hoover around..........with a twinkle in his eye!

It would have been OK for this film. However, we generally avoid the cinema as we find the sound levels painfully high.😫 They generally appear in the Sky store after about 3 to 4 months and we can get a HD copy on the box, plus an ordinary DVD that works in the van, for £13.99.😀

I'm the same, I like to watch them at home with the ability to pause it at any time and get extra popcorn, or (more likely) rewind when I've missed something or want to watch a good bit straight away
