DPF and injector problems are due to how the car is used.

How the engine is designed, more like. Manufacturers need to constantly sell new vehicles.

Whilst DPF's can usually be purged of excess carbon with running at high revs for 20 mins or so until DPF warning light goes out (Better to do at least  long run every month at least of course with a diesel as several have previously posted).

However 'beware' of the more recent technology  deisels with EGR valves (Engine Gas Circulation Valves ) often more of an issue once they become clogged and blocked up. My VW. V.A.G. Group built car (a Skoda)  told needed  a replacement after only 20,000 miles and the main dealer quoted £1000  as if it was a regularly accepted thing nowadays .( I went to my motorhome mechanic and he did it for 30% less)  Even more important to give a newer deisel engined vehicle now  equiped with an EGR valve a good regular longer run.

Next car will be a petrol and not  (emmissions cheating company  V.A.G.)  not by choice another V.A.G. vehicle)

Where the DPF is placed makes a big difference as well, as if next to exhaust manifold it heats up quicker and hotter than one placed half way done the pipework

    Decent ones do, Rocky👍🏻😄

I suspect you do enough running to keep it working rather than stop/start commuter runs.

    Yes.. grief.

But then our little polo mostly does a round trip of 5 or 6 miles. It doesn't even get hot enough for the heater to start working. I would say it doesn't even move the temperature gauge but it doesn't have one. Nah DPF light comes on about every 5 or 6 weeks, thrash it for about 30 mins till it goes off. Very good for the environment I don't think. Previous polo didn't have a dpf, a much better car all round.

Yes my Fabia is basically a Polo (badged as a Skoda of course)

You are lucky then potentially financially if at the moment you have not the latest generation engine equiped with an EGR valve (in addition to the usual DPF unit ) The EGR valve once it is badly clogged has been found as not so easily burnt off in this way regards carbon build up due to shorter running usage.      Basically a gadget that was designed to  meet or even promised to 'exceed emmissions targets that ends up  becoming  a very expensive part to replace due to its location ' Some often now describe it as ' latest necessary engineering of the devil ' (unlike the somewhat easier  location of  the  DPF later in line of the exhaust system)

As said beware of the rosy spectacled sales spiel from the salesman if looking at a later generation  'efficient ' Deisel car with a EGR valve if you intend to only mostly do short local trips.  Otherwise whatever you save on low taxation class  you will more than pay for for garage parts and labour costs. (A blocked EGR valve warning light on is an MOT failure)

I received the card but the website quoted on my introduction letter does not exist.

I have tried the phone number on the PUMP KING website and that too does not exist.

I can log in on that website but it does not accept registering my Esso card.

I'm beginning to suspect I've been scammed to get my personal details as a hoax from the CAMC promotion.

    Any help please?.

Thanks Justus, that phone number seems permanently unobtainable and cuts out after a couple of engaged tones!

I do use my Esso card regularly but as stated by other members it is not 8pence per ltr cheaper but is generally in the norwich area the same price as asda. I have found though I get better mileage on Esso than asda diesel and it is a premium fuel, still cheaper than shell and bp. However do watch out for glitches on the pump king site, keep all receipts

I used tel No.0203468 8578 but this rings but is not answered now ( it was at first) but then changes tone and then a answer m/c cuts in but it is not worth leaving a message because they do not return your calls. This plus I cannot cannot change a card number leaves me a what appears a lot of members in limbo. Great offer if you cannot get into it.

Please tell me how you managed to contact them to cancel your card.

I've not been able to get past the telephone answering girl or get any reply from my (now daily) emails. There's no way to cancel via online account access.

I have no card yet, but to those that do there is a serious security issue. I've been able to log into my account by using just my email address and asking to change my password. Once into the account my PIN number is boldly displayed on the screen.

If the bank did that with my debit card and someone else used it, I think the bank would say I was negligent.

With respect that's the same for just about any site that requires a login. Forgot password>enter email address>they send you a link or a new password. You log in and change the password.

Yes it is appalling that the PIN is displayed twice on the account screen, but this is a bunch of rank amateurs that you're dealing with.

It is cheaper for them to do it this way.

If you're unhappy the safest method is to get your debit card replaced - new number and CCV - they cannot touch it.

We have not had any email telling us that the card is being replaced.  If it was not for the fact that I regularly monitor this thread I would not have known about it.  I suspect this applies to a couple of thousand other people who have the fuel card.

Still no update why my card was declined last week although they did phone me.  They wanted me to give them my debit card number over the phone which I refused.  They suspected that my debit card number could be wrong until I pointed out that I had been using it since the beginning of December.

A very amateurish organisation and I am very surprised that the CC got into bed with them considering that the company was only formed in April 2018 and had no track record!  I suspect the CC was offered something very lucrative in return?

I have had a courteous reply from PKFuels, they say that Pump King site is the correct one to use  www.pump-king.co.uk

"The card certification process will be for the new cards which are being sent out to all customers later this week, and should be with you by monday 18 Feb, "

That sorted, hope to get a new card to complete the registration process soon.

Surfer, why would you want the Card replaced?, I would’ve expected you to want no contact with them considering your recent issues with this company.

No, not only motorways as the Shell card can be used at any Shell station.  I have been using mine for seventeen years and use, almost exclusively, Shell.

It must be a different Shell card, Q. The one the club promoted was definitely only for m/way fuel.
