If they are, I would think head office might be a bit miffed, as they should be charging.
From the Travelodge booking page.
Sometimes we all wish for a bit more time. With our convenient Early Check In or Late Check Out services that’s what you’ll get. For just £10 each* you can make your stay more flexible, whether you need to drop off your luggage and go or just want to relax for a bit longer in your room.
Early Check In – allows you to check in from 12 noon (normally 3 pm)
Late Check Out – allows you to check out up until 2 pm (normally 12 noon)Simply add these to your basket during check out on our website or by calling your chosen hotel directly. Late check out can also be added to your booking when you check in to the hotel. Simply talk to a member of the reception team upon checking in to your chosen hotel.

That's odd I have just had to pay an extra £10 at a Travelodge in Bournemouth for a stay in April in order to be able to book in at midday. It was the same when I stayed in Twickenham last August. I fully accept that you might take a chance and turn up early but that is no way guaranteed in the same way as it would be on a Club site.

Of course, I’m also quite capable of reading what’s not written. I even read inference. It’s a gift, I don’t question it😊

Maybe that's an idea for the club to adopt. Want to check in before the designated earliest arrival time or stay after the latest departure time ? That will be an extra £10 please..
It wouldn't bother me in the least as we have never done either.

I understand, my thoughts are with you. It could be your age. Seek medical help ASAP, rest assured help is only a pill away. Enjoy your day. . .And don’t stress👍🏻😊

Are you sure about that, DD? You don’t think it might be due to the weather? 😗

There’s nothing wrong with that at all, David.

I thought that it was more a case of staffing levels and policies David that prevented further real consideration. Employing 4 people on relatively long hours is never going to give the same cover as employing 6 on shorter hours due to days off.

indeed I have heard it often happens to men of a certain age with a history of air travel and expensive hotels, something to do with jet lag affecting bio rhythms? As you say those pills work wonders

As the OP appears to refer to CMC site perhaps the CT manager or a moderator could refer this thread to HO as it appears frequently on CT (maybe refer it to the committee below as a starting point). Getting a definitive figure from wardens and publishing that figure would help all members understand the scale of the perceived problem of early arrivals and if deemed necessary find a solution acceptable to all members. I accept that early arrivals happen as I have seen outfits waiting before stipulated arrival times. A simple wall calendar would I feel suffice for wardens to enter a daily number then returning it at the end of the allotted time (season or a set number of months). Finding an acceptable solution if needed would be a way forward for all.

Don’t be shocked JV you offer this info on a near weekly basis. Not so much shock, more like not again.

Now this indicates a majority of members on that committee. Just as you would expect of a club. Maybe dissenters should just 'put them selves up' or .......!

As far as I am aware, there is no prohibition in the definition that the Chairman and the member of the executive can also be caravanners.

Same here HD. But I think that is literally how some folks do spend their holidays, sat looking for things to moan about. We don’t tend to use many Club Sites, but I wish I had a pound for all the huffers and puffers we have to queue behind when checking in. My full sympathies are always with the Wardens. There’s a silver bullet with my name on if I ever get into such a mind set.......

Guarantee no clean toilets !

I think we just have to accept that set arrival/departure times are pretty much universal practice on all UK Sites. It is not a "problem" unique to club sites no matter what some might suggest. In fact I'd suggest that the club's arrangements, like them or not, are better than most other comparable sites.
As such, comparison with hotels, at home or overseas, and sites outside the UK has limited relevance.

well you are assuming a steady rate per month, they could all have come in the last month, or in the first of course.
either way 12 likes is a lot for CT and shows that people are agreeing with OP and his suggestion? I too think it is selfish to arrive early.

I never made any mention of the whole membership just CT, just on CT.
There is a flaw with adding up all the likes as you suggest to get any meaningful conclusion. The 12 likes for the OP are all individual likes from 12 different posters (you cannot like a single post more than once) however you can like as many posts as you like throughout a thread, so the likes from the 'opposite viewpointers' could, and probably did, come from the same few posters?
But following your reasoning, lets add up all the likes in the thread for the OP? Maybe not, got better things to do
