First advice:
never use motorway A18 from Berlin to Wrocław, even with 20mil/h you can lose wheels. We say this part of the motorway should be added to UNESCO list... becasue surface is orginal since 1936 btw built by German Reich
in the opposite direction there is new motorway with perfect condition
A4 from Dresden to Wroclaw is good but part between Legnica and Wroclaw is a little bit crowded.

We've nipped in and out of Poland whilst working our way down the River Oder. Always found the people to be very friendly, the roads less so but the wildlife made up for any shortcomings. Will return soon. Glad you enjoyed the UK and thank you for your kind offer.

We travelled via Dresden, Camping Luxe Oase which is one of our favourites, then over the border to Jelenia Gora, on to Krakow then down to Zakopane. We left Poland by crossing the Tatras south of Zakopane into Slovakia.

No problem at all. We went north & west via Czarny Dunajec and Jablonka to pick up the E77, across the border, then the scenic route down to Liptovsky Mikulas (Villa Betula). The hills and mountains were easy driving.
Our only difficulty was at the toll booth at Punkt Chyzne, close to the border, where we needed to surrender our Viabox toll system and get a refund of our deposit. The only place suitable for a caravan to park seemed to be in the truck stop area, which was fine until we came to leave and found that the barrier operation system was at truck driver level so impossible to reach from the car! A nice bit of compensation was that the deposit had been paid by UK bank card, so the refund was credited to my bank account. When I checked statements I found that the pound had fallen and the Zloty had risen so I made a couple of quid profit on the deal!

Hello All
I am sorry for big delay,
Back to first question, how to reach Zakopane.
If you travel via Dresden you can use motorway 4 in Poland called A4
there is link to google maps
The biggest problem is road between Krakow and Zakopane. It is under constraction, big traffic jams.
I undrestand you want to visit Zakopane but please dont skip Wroclaw. It is close to A4 motorway but what is more important really beautful.
Other important place is Karkonosze mountains with specific climat similar like in Alps - the nearest big city Jelenia Gora
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Karkonosze_National_Park
Motorway from Wroclaw to Krakow is paid on gates, so dont travel Friday afternoon and Sunday afternoon.
Please remember that motorway A18 with East direction is destroied, on West it is new.
let me know if you have more questions
it's true that a motorhome with a weight of over 3.5T is treated as a truck also with payment on motorways gates
best regards
Janusz
