Campsites near San Sebastian
We plan to spend a few days visiting glorious San Sebastián in NE Spain in late summer. The campsite which seems most used is Camping Igueldo, despite some adverse reviews. But it has a bus stop immediately outside the entrance which makes visiting the city relatively easy. The major issue seems to be small and awkward pitches. I have an 8m Motorhome and am concerned the site will not suit. What do those Motorhomers who have visited San Sebastián recommend for a site?

Hi Peter1952
We could not find a Site nearby so we stayed at Igueldo 2017, your right the pitches are tight we have a 7.25 Motorhome and had to do a bit of shunting back and fore to get on our pitch we noticed that some pitches looked a bit larger than the one we had, nice site with a new (then) pool the bus stop is right at the gate and takes you right into San Sebastian, the road is a bit narrow but take your time and it should be okay after all if a bus can go up and down so can a MoHo, enjoy

We used this site May 16 and September 17. Site is perfect for a couple of nights to visit San Sebastian. Bus service is great and runs quite late.
Pasted website for Camp and Bus timetable below. Site pictures as usual are taken at best angles etc.!!
When we visited in 2017 we arrived at same time as a French group with about 20 vehicles some quite large A Class. All managed to get on pitches although some were a bit tight.

Road up is steep but easily done. When you arrive at site don't turn in there is a large car park on right for use whilst booking in.

We stayed at Igueldo for 3 nights, a couple of years ago. The site is a bit overpriced, but in a very good location.
We had no problems towing our caravan to and from the campsite, and it should be easier still in a motorhome.
The pitches are small, but no more so than many other Spanish sites. We had 4 Frenchmen in a horse box on the next pitch, they managed fine!
As the others have said, there is a very good bus service from the site, but it's also worth considering walking into the centre. It's not far at all, but don't walk down the road, it's much quicker to take the Camino route, just follow the shell way markers. Maybe get the bus back up the hill though!
Have a great time, I'm sure you will.
