Depends on your system, but if I right click a blurry picture on CT and 'open image in new tab', it is full screen and in excellent resolution.

Of course with the page image provided by Steve the pop out square will be clearer and background feint. Generally no problem here.

Wow, I didn't realise that such a simple and well intention request  would cause so much controversy!!!!  But thanks everyone for their interest.

Just for reassurance, if it is required, my post was not aimed at any individual as it is something I have had in mind for some time to post about. I do spend quite a lot of time actually editing links in posts. This is for various reasons. Sometimes it is because a link is posted which for some reason is not linked to a URL (webpage)  so is unclickable. Often its because the link has not been set to open in a new page which can lead to a member losing the main Club website if they don't remember to use the back arrow. Sometimes the link is corrupted which leaves a bit a guesswork as to the correct link although in these circumstances I am often beaten to the correcting by other diligent members. Of course you can right click the highlight the link and click to open in a new window but surely its slightly more convenient to just  click on the link? ( as an aside for those that don't already know you can right click on a posted image and get it to open in a full sized window, saves squintingwink) I will ask Rowena if rather than a no/yes response being require in the dialogue box that it defaults to yes, to open in a new window.

    David

Is how I do a link ok? Or am I using the wrong method?

It's a link TDA and works fine, but it does take over the CT window, rather than open in a new tab.

What was being suggested was to change open in a new window, which appears in the link dialog box set at No, to Yes.

The original CT window will then remain open.

If you are using laptop or computer and right click on the link, you have the option of opening in new window. Cannot say if the same applies to tablets etc.

Doesn’t seem to be anything not working with either my link, or your version ET. I click the link to open it, I click on the back arrow to get back here.........both versions work the same🤔 IPad, Safari.

Lovely Site Tinny, a little Yorkshire gem in a cracking location. We had our first trip out in MH there, a few Decembers ago.

TDA, same question as to TW. What are you viewing with? On my PC my version opens in a separate window?

Today - iPad, sometimes - iPhone, other times - Windows PC.

Yes, separate window but I always exit by the back arrow to prevent mishaps. Simples!

I like the idea of eating settings.😄

Just a trial - 1 to open in new tab (didn't know about this before reading this thread).  1 to open over this discussion therefore need to use back button

    Link to CT

TDA - Also like the look of your Yorkshire gem will make a note of it Thanks for posting it.

It’s in my answer ET, iPad with Safari. I know the Club website used to have issues with Apple products, because that’s all I use, and some things didn’t seem to work. Hasn’t been any unusual problems lately though.

Yes, it’s a little stunner of a Site. New shower and loo block, including disabled cubicle with loo, wash basin and easy access wet room shower. All spotlessly clean and heated. Included in block is a small laundry, and a freezer with honesty box. HS pitches, staggered so you aren’t staring into someone else’s bathroom, plenty of grass around to sit on, walks from Site. It’s around 3 miles from Pickering, Five from Helmsley, so some brilliant places to see, eat and have a look around. Ex CL, that grew up. Owners very nice.

Sounds good TDA. One to bear in mind. I missed the reference to new facilities block. I thought that at the price there would be.

Thanks David. A good suggestion and I do agree it needs to be more user friendly as tricky to do. I will speak to the team about this and see if it can be changed easily.

You mentioned you were on an iPad TW. On mine I can't exit ET's version of the link with the back button, as it opens in a new window. Therefore there is not a back button, as it's the first thing in it. The back button will only appear if I do anything within the link. However, it will never take me back to CT. For that I touch back on the CT tab that is still open.

Same on my Tablet and also PC. I often find it useful as having clicked on a link I can have a quick look, return to the forum and, if interested, look at the web page later at leisure without having to search the post out again.

Sometimes I use the TV for CT, no need to say it ET. . .You don’t have a smart TV, or watch much on the one you have😂😂😂👍🏻.

ET’s link - separate tab - back arrow shown in red.

Back arrow closes the link tab and returns me to the CT tab on the left.

I just tried it on my iPad SL, it takes me straight back from the website to ET’s post by hitting the back button🤔

Funnily we do have a smart TV R2B but you are right in saying that I don't watch it much. I think that I have not watched a programme since  months ago. I have watched at least two films last year though.

Fliss tends to put TV on around 6pm when I am usually in the kitchen cooking. After the evening meal I will be found in my study smile which is one reason I enjoy our time together in the caravan wink

No back arrow on my iPad TW. The only way I get one is touching on something else on the page. It goes back to CT by either closing the link, or touching back on the discussions tab.

Perhaps we will just have to put it down to the vagaries of CT.☹️
