Home today following our X-Mas/New Year trip. Only a short drive as we had a couple of nights on a CL near Newby Bridge. Van cleared out before lunch and while OH got on with the washing and took Flyte for a walk I cleaned the car. As there was nearly 6 weeks of mud and grit on it I was at it for nearly 2 hours!! Have started on going through the new CC's Site Directory this evening, marking up the recommended and visited sites. Only got as far a Derbyshire and there are a few queries already.

You can keep the snow up there, TG. Hope that it doesn't stop you getting away.

Sorry to hear about your ankle, brue. Hope that it's not too painful now and that it clears up soon.

Well done with the filling, tda, I had to get one done last time we were home, but fortunately don't have a phobia about dentists.

Millie, we've not yet decided where we'll go next trip, but may just start off in the Lakes for a change. As we'll be heading off again in about 3 weeks I doubt that the sites will be full.

laughing another 10 days, so plenty of time yet for things to change either way. (boating lake adventure) laughinglaughinglaughing

Hope things work out for you, Mrs WN and MIL, it certainly isn't easy juggling things, we are lucky that Mum is in a good home and my sister is living close by, so there is always one of us around for Mum, my brother lives in St Albans and hasn't visited for over 2 years now yell

Thanks NTH, its not reached us yet but they say we might get a shower tomorrow, - 5c forecast for tonight and the wind is picking up. The Lecht  got snow today, so more than likely Aviemore and Glenshee will have some too. I admire your stamina, just back cleaned and planning the next trip.smile

Snowing here, or was. Quite heavy, couldn't see the end of the close, but very light now, and a slight covering.

Corners. My grandson will be pleased if there's snow in his new NE home! smile

I'm stuck at home now, snow or no snow, can't walk except with a hobble.

    Stay warm one and all.

I'm stuck at home now, snow or no snow, can't walk except with a hobble.

Sorry to hear that brue, keep off it and ice it regularly.

No snow here smile its up on the hills but not down at our level. Beautiful sunny day (sorry Bakers) chilly out though.

Just had next door's cat on the window sill with a Robin in its mouth yell managed to retrieve it but its dead frown I know its the way with cats but I hate it, she's been in and been fed so no excuse.

Went to hairdresser this morning and got cropped, oh boy did she crop  it, why do they do that. They either don't take enough off or they crop you to the wood. Still it will be easy to look after in the heat.

Help needed - having trouble with my Samsung Tablet, I record all our trips in the S Planner, turned it on yesterday to find that the last 5 years information has all gone. All that I'm left with is 2018's info frown if anyone knows anything about these I'd be grateful for advice. We phoned the help line but trying to understand the 'gent' on the other end was a challenge in itself, at the end of everything he told us to do he came back with that should be ok now. Didn't do anything about how to restore the information, or why it did it in the first place, there is plenty of storage on the device so its not that.

Very  strange,  I've  not  heard  any  banging  of  walking sticks  on  the  floor,  Brue  undecided,  so  I  must  assume  your  personal  "Carers"  are  keeping  up  with  your  demands  for  coffee n'  biscuits  etc  smile.  Build  yourself  up  for  the  deluge  of  snow  that's  surely  coming !!

TammyG,  It's  a  personal  choice  as  to  whether  you  have  a  Trim  or  a  Savaging,  but  think  what  it's  like  when  you  only  have  the  choice  of  the  polish  used  cry,  some  of  them  clash  'orribly  with  one's  'essence  de  life' surprised  !!

Sorry to hear that brue, keep off it as much as you can. Rotten luck sprains take much longer to repair/heal.

No snow here  its up on the hills but not down at our level. Beautiful sunny day (sorry Bakers) chilly out though.

We've had sun today hurray 😀😃. Plus a flurry of snow about 0830 - jolly cold breeze 🌬. Naturally it been a day that has been occupied but still it's nice to drive and enjoy the views. Dentist was ok, he has a new toy for scaling, can't recall the name of the attachment at the moment 😤. He started by saying I can turn it down if need be - I braced myself 😯. Not a murmur or a flinch 😃 normally I'm on the gentlest setting and I still flinch!

Spare room returned to normal as the stock from various shoe shops has been returned and the credit card credited, OH happy 😂😂. Naturally I couldn't allow it all to remain unused to bought new underwear for the day. Just headgear, if we really have too, to go.

Ordered silver photo frame Tuesday, it's the gift we give to all family, or the equivalent of family, for their wedding photo - can be substituted in years to come! To remind them of us as the years go by. It was delivered yesterday, English silver from an English company and it was reduced for January sale so win win. This idea came after I inherited one containing me and my late godfather when his wife died years ago. Just got to decide on something to go with it, I expect we can discuss this weekend. Mind you their wedding list has a ref no at John Lewis but theres nothing in it yet, unless they've surprised us all over the last couple of weeks! That won't open until 6 or 8 weeks before the wedding, but that wont be long 😂😂

Stay warm folks and enjoy whatever you're 'forced' to do.

Edit forgot to mention OH fell down the last few stairs yesterday 😯. He put his foot on the said photoframe box, which he had placed in the stairs before going up ??? He did the curtains and came down without putting the light on! Banged the back of his head and later we noticed blood in his foot - where it had gone under the cupboard. Foot more painful than head 😂. Says much about him!!!

B2, I bet the foot is painful, hope he's ok, I found my OH wrapped in a pair of curtains plus the curtain pole that he was taking down a couple of weeks ago, fell off the step ladder...not quite "curtains" for him, they thankfully broke his fall. wink

I actually passed out on the train yesterday as my foot went under me at a jaunty angle, couldn't work out where I was for a few minutes and then the pain got me. Not the best of train journeys!

Brue that was some sprain 😱😯. Do rest it, our son did something similar on a kerb years ago but was a little merry so carried on for the evening. Pulled the tendons and the whole ankle was very unstable, resulted in an op to tighten it, he now has a screw in that foot that the excess was wound around.

    Hope you're OH has recovered.

Beautiful day but boy was it cold. Had a bracing walk this afternoon.

This morning spent buying food. Man strolling around Tesco in shorts and T-Shirt.😌 Honestly, wait until he gets to 30, he'll regret it.

Just the one shorts wearer? I met 2, 1 with just a tshirt as well, yesterday and it wasnt as cold as today. Looks as silly, if not more so, than for coat, hat scarf etc when it 30+

    Glad you enjoyed your walk.

He must have been a Newcastle United Supporter!! wink Glad you enjoyed your walk. WN.

Hope OH is ok, B2, and not suffering from concussion. I suggest he has a few days in bed just to be on the safe side.laughing

It froze over night here but we woke to a bright sunny morning. OH got last load of washing out on the line by 9:00 and we headed into town for odd jobs and to restock the freezer for our time at home. Washing was nice and dry by the time we got home. After lunch I managed to get the dirt washed off the van and it rinsed down, but the water was freezing on the roof so had to abandon my proper cleaning. Forecast is not promising for the next few days so maybe I'll just have to leave that till it gets a bit warmer and concentrate on the inside stuff.

Sorry to hear about your throat, Helen. Hope that you are not coming down with Flu. A large hot toddy might just ease the pain.

Where are you heading off to in May, and what did you think of Blackwell Hall?

There was a guy in Waitrose this morning attired in shorts and it was cold outside. What was slightly puzzling was he had a thick bobble hat on! Obviously a believer in the theory that most heat escapes out the top of your head!!!

Here in Glasgow we seem to have avoided the bad weather, though it has been quite cold, down to -2 degrees last night.  Today was bright but pretty chilly.

Work continues at “the house”, the tiling in the en suite bathroom is now complete, meantime, and I have been working on the boxing in of the hopefully no longer leaking drain pipe from the roof above.  First the ceiling and walls have to be painted so OH was dispatched to B&Q for suitable paint, that will be done tomorrow.

The freestanding bath tap is in place as are the new towel raIl radiator and the new ordinary radiator.  Once the painting is done and the pipe boxed in I will be able to install the freestanding bath.

A new problem was discovered 2 days back, the shower drain in the bathroom of the flat above was leaking and copious amounts of water came through the ceiling and down the walls all over the stuff DD was storing in the spare bedroom en suite, so a rapid evacuation there was needed.  Hopefully no serious damage and the upstairs owner will be paying for the repainting once things have dried out.  Another incident  she could have done without!

Only 4 weeks till she has to return to work now, so trying to get as much done as possible meantime.

It's turned a little colder this evening, but fortunately, the places I go all tend to be warm - apart from church!  I played for a funeral this morning, and as the saying goes.... I dont know where the cold draught was coming from, but I certainly know where it was going!!

Another sunny cold day today. It's great. I'm ignoring the low sun on the windows 😱😱. That can be another days task!

The birds are feeding well, in fact too well, a sign of colder weather. Must go and top up the feeders very soon.

Meanwhile housework needs finishing after my cuppa. Afternoon with friends to look forward too 😀

Hope those, brue and tricky, with walking or non walking are progressing.

Stay warm and enjoy your day folks.
