Rotterdam-Hull Short Notice Booking?
We are planning a trip to Europe in our motorhome via the Hull/Rotterdam route returning in mid July but would like to keep the return date flexible. An open return is not available with P&O on this route. We are therefore considering leaving booking the return ferry crossing until a day or two before but are concerned the ferries may be totally booked. We have asked P&O staff advice on this but they were noncommittal! Does anyone have experience of booking at short notice from Rotterdam to Hull in mid July?
Thank you in anticipation for any advice you can give.

And if the worst comes to the worst and all crossings are full you can always get a short crossing from Dunkerque or Calais which aren't that far away. Then you'll think 'I wish I'd booked................' when you're on the M25 in a traffic jam!

Oneputt could you tell me what time of year you return please.
We would like to do the same as we are uncertain as to our return date other than it's likely to be in Within first 2 weeks of July.
Thank you.

My brother tried to book a short notice after a cycling holiday last May and the they were full. He had the option of booking the next day or travelling up to Amsterdam and getting the ferry from there.

There is always a risk of the ferry being fully booked but if you are flexible you should get a crossing on either the Rotterdam or Zeebrugge route, we rarely have a return booked for our return at the end of June.
The Zeebrugge route is probably the lesser used route of the two. Don't forget you can make the booking online through the Club which offer much better rates than direct with P&O especially in July.
