Sounds like you had a great day yesterday Helen. We have had a really lovely day today. We had all the family at ours (apart from the NI family). Even our second eldest grand-daughter (22) came over. She is eldest son's daughter from his first marriage and we don't get the opportunity to see her all that often. So great to get everyone together. 😊. We played our Table Game which is a great favourite at Christmas.

We need to get our decorations down and put away soon before we go off to N. Ireland at the end of the week.

I hope everyone has a good time tomorrow evening. We are going to treat ourselves to a Chinese takeaway.

I have sorted our bookings for 3 weeks in Norfolk in June.

Sounds like you had a busy day Millie enjoy your take-away tomorrow night and relax. We had a lovely day today we met up with my brother and my nephew who live over here and we all went to Edinburgh zoo very enjoyable and due to it being winter it wasn't too busy although we didn't get to see all the animals as some weren"t out. They are doing a night time light display at the zoo just now so we bought tickets for that (a bit expensive) but well worth the money we went back after dark and spent another 2 houra wandering round the wonderful light displays many of them model animals lit up there were also some food stalls and a little market. We got back to the caravan at about 8 and then relaxed watching a repeat og Midsomer Murders a very tiring day but enjoyable. If anyone ia in the Edinburgh area   Soon I recommend going to the light display at the zoo it was brilliant.

Some late night reading on here, sounds like people have been busy with lots going on. We'll be saying goodbye to our son and family tomorrow after a hectic time here, I think we'll enjoy a quiet New Years Eve tomorrow.

Enjoy your trip to NI Millie.

Happy Hogmanay to Francis and all those north of the border, have a good time! smile

Edinburgh Zoo sounds amazing Francis.  I love the light displays that quite a few places are putting on recently.  I think it is a wonderful idea. We haven't been to Edinburgh for some years.  The last time we went was just before Christmas about 10 years ago and we visited the Royal Yacht Britannia which was decorated for Christmas.  Well worth a visit.

You will no doubt be sad to see your son and his family leave yours brue.  Do you have any plans to visit them soon?

We are trying to sort out an outing with the caravan in March which is proving difficult with other commitments and Mr H's ongoing hospital appointments. frown

Quick foray into town on Saturday to buy a road atlas of Germany & Benelux countries so I can get down to some serious planning for 2019. Phase two of offspring visits yesterday now concluded so we can get back to "normal" now.

Glad you enjoyed a lovely day with your family Millie,  it sounded great fun smile  Enjoy NI too.

Francis the lights at the zoo sounds fabulous, if tiring.

You will be sad to see the family leave Brue, but enjoy the peace and quiet.

We met up with friends yesterday at our local pub which was quiet, lull before the New Year party. wink

It's a lovely morning so planning a walk round our local woods today. Think we will enjoy a fairly quiet night tonight, just a visit from friend ,  and a neighbour.

Enjoy planning your trips CY, smile

Going to empty the rest of the stuff out of the caravan this morning, in case they decide to do any work on it when it goes in for Alko to have a look on Wednesday.  Not that there's that much in it anyway.  We carry so much of the bigger stuff in the car anyway these days.  That way we just take what we need - and it's easier to get in and out.

Off to Cornwall tomorrow to take daughter back to uni at Falmouth.  That'll be a journey and a half!! 😀😀

Happy New Year to everyone, in case I dont manage to get back later!

Just sitting here waiting for a phone call from Mrs WN. She's in town having an eye test and doesn't like to drive after it.

Have taken a nice ripe French cheese out of the fridge and am beginning to smell its call. Will have to wait until I get back, whenever that may be.

Best wishes to one and all.

    Happy touring in 2019.laughing

Sounds like everyone has been having a good festive season.

We've both resumed doing jobs around the house. OH has made a new shoe rack for one of his wardrobes and has now started work on making a new door for one of the built in wardrobe/cupboard  in the spare bedroom.

I've been doing more sorting out upstairs, this time its been the storage part of the attic. I found a big box of the boys Lego today, so sat for a few hours sorting it out. Yesterday after a visit to Mum I sorted out my card crafting stuff, even after clearing a load to go to the school and some bits and pieces to be thrown out there is still loads of it.

We are having a quiet night in tonight, we usually go to the Ceilidh in the village hotel but decided to give it a miss this year.

Happy Hogmanay everyone, all the best for 2019

Hope your walk went well this morning Helen.

Enjoy your trip over to NI, millie

Your trip to Edinburgh Zoo sounds like a great success, Francis.

Hope everyone's trips go well tomorrow.

We had a visit to the van by ttda and OH, and spent a very pleasant early evening, over coffee and cakes, swapping tales of our travels over the past years and looking forward to others to come. It was great to see them again.

Happy New Year to one and all.

Oh Tricky sounds painful 😯 wishing you a speedy recovery. I take it your predominantly right handed as well so you'll be learning other new moves for the new year! Hopefully it will be fully recovered by the time Concorde is ready for outings. What bad luck.

"Oh crikey triky,"  what have you been up to this time?! Hope it all heals up soon, sorry it's so painful.

I sat outside in the sunshine with a cup of coffee this morning but now it's getting a bit chilly. Think I'm going to take the Christmas lights down from the front garden, getting fed up with remembering to switch the various on and off switches each night...at least it's dry out there. smile

Hope  you  recover  quickly  Triky  !!  Winter  is  never  ever  a  good  time  to  have  such  problems.  If  you  are  at  all  like  me  you'll  feel  rather  nervous  about  doing  anything  in  case  more  damage  is  done undecided.

I've  just  received  a  couple  of  texts  from  a neighbour  who  has  been  taking  part in  a  "Charity"  race  in  Stafford.  No  watches  were  allowed  'cos  participating  runners  had  to  state  their  expected  finishing  time  for  some  token  prize  to  the  nearest.

Dammit  the  lady  got  it  to  within  ONE  SECOND,  jammy  little  rascal surprised --  she's  only  come  away  with  £20  &  a bottle  of  whisky  as  the  winner  even  tho'  she'll  be  way  down  the  field  in  actual  position  !!  Think  I'll  nip  round  and  polish  their front  door  sharpish.

And  a  Happy  &  Peaceful  New  Year  to  you  all,  may  the  medication  do  it's  job  !!

Tricky, 😮 It never rains but it pours. Hope you recover quickly and both you and Concorde are back on the road soon.

Happy New Year to you all. 🎉

I've started as I mean to go on....I've decided we must eat more fish. (the royal "we" 😊) Tonight I've cooked a Mary Berry recipe (cookery book present for Christmas) it was monkfish cooked with a bacon and mushroom sauce. Very nice.

Oh dear triky, you are having a bad  time at the moment. I do hope you recover soon and that  the rest of 2019 has better luck in store for you. Take care. I hope the pain killers are working.

I did my usual Welcomer stint at the Cathedral this morning although I went in later than usual. It was a really lovely morning. Lots of happy, smiling visitors. I had no idea it would be so busy. As an added bonus we have a visiting Dutch choir this week while the Cathedral choir is on holiday. They are a wonderful choir and such lovely people. The organist came in to practise this morning. It was a lovely start to the new year.

Happy New Year to everybody. May we all have health, happiness and peace.

Late start this morning,  as we managed to see the new year in - just.laughing

Gave the house a bit of a blitz, been very lazy over Christmas.  embarassed

Headed out for a walk with the dog, decided to walk down the fields to the canal, but now the first part of the walk is through the new housing estate. Met up with a friend and her dogs so it was lovely to see them chasing round the fields together.  smile

It's back to normal routine tomorrow, early night for OH as he has to be up at 3am.

Wishing everyone  a Very Happy Caravanning / Motorhoming New Year.smile

On Christmas day my true love gave to me One Cracking Cold! No Turtle Doves

Drove back from our Christmas break on 28th December. Felt pretty rough when we got back but we had already bagged the items to take out of the 'van and so parked up, legs down, locks on etc. Went inside for a sit down and then to bed for a couple of hours.

When I got up OH had been outside and found the controller for the motor mover on the ground. I had put it 'safe' on top of an outside cupboard containing the hose, water taps and watering system controls. The wind had sprung up and it had fallen off 4 feet to a hard landing!

'Is it damaged' - 'don't know I put it in the car'. Was I upset with myself!

Checked it out yesterday. All works, no cracks. It must have landed on top of one of those plastic steps that come with caravans and that I leave just under the cupboard for the window cleaner to use on that end of the bungalow.

    Happy now!

That sounds really painful Triky. Wishing you a full and speedy recovery. Not the best start to the New Year for you.

I have set up my nice new shiny iPhone today. Opted for the quick method, which involved lining up new device with iPad, then everything was transferred over. Staggering technology, only had to set up a few very personal bits to finish off, then thought I would try out some new music................new iPhone has no port for earphones! 🤔😂 Luckily I have some Bluetooth headphones, but caught me out there. I need to spend £2 on a little gadget to solve problem! Duh......🤣🤣
