The two sites – Scotgate and Braithwaite Bridges – lie between Derwentwater and Bassenthwaite Lake near the popular town of Keswick and were purchased by the Club from Scotgate Holiday Park.

When combined the two campsites total almost 18 acres and cater for all forms of camping with 250 camping pitches, 65 hardstandings, 21 caravan holiday homes, 13 lodges and a 1.8-acre rally field. The sites have been owned and managed by local family the Stuarts for 65 years, spanning three generations.

    Don't C&CC already have a Keswick site?

We know that site in Braithwaite very well. It'll be an excellent addition for the club, ideally located for the northern lakes and the villages has (or had) two very good pubs and a useful village shop. Will follow developments with great interest. smile

More friendly, I agree! That still doesn’t make this one unfriendly, though. 😋

I suppose being friendlier makes up for the inferior cleanliness of the toilets, in my experience that is.

How many of their sites have you used lately?

Having used 5 CCC sites in the last  year, that was not our experience.

Like I said in my experience, and once is enough as the toilets were smelly and horrible. I don't take unnecessary risks with my precious holidays. Also pitches were untidy and had weeds growing in the hard standing. Maybe they have improved but once bitten...

Never been disappointed with a club site

my goodness, at Broadway last week, my shower had a leaf in it....surprised

not only that, the shower was not what I call hot (despite the H&S sticker) and the upper shower block had no cleaning brush/mop...

ill never darken their door again.....undecided

We used 5 C&CC sites last year. Dislike the push button showers and lack of temperature control

no, but there's been 'squeegee' things since then, but not one of these either.....

BTW, they aren't very effective anyway....undecided

then you should have written that rather than:

and the upper shower block had no cleaning brush/mop.

You have to be precise BB, we can't read your mind smile

Yes agree about the squeegee thing

Swings and roundabouts. Some sites are better than others just as in the CMC.

Increasingly so especially if you add in CLs, CSs and commercial sites.
