Great to be able to do it.

Isn't it, love my 'other' holidays but time away in the van is special.

Those that have never tried it can't understand, my sister says "how can you spend 10 weeks in a tin can" just the 2 of you. I think I meet and talk to more folk that when I'm at home. smile

We try to work a year in advance (retired) off to Singapore in February, Spain in April for five weeks, UK for a couple of weeks in July then five weeks to the S of France late  August, essentially anywhere that's "hot"

Off to France and N.E.Spain for 6 weeks from mid March to end of April then 6 weeks from end of May up the East coast of Yorkshire through to Northumberland and back through the Dales. Autumn? Who knows? If everyone's health holds up thdn we'll go to France for 4 weeks and tour Dorset and Devon on the way home from Portsmouth.

We made plans last year for this one and Autumn's plan was knocked sideways but we still managed to fit a lot of touring in.

I won't call it a Plan more like a Hope.

We book early each year as my holiday periods are fixed so after Chirstmas at a CL in Sedgefield completes this years list.

Next trip is in February for a week at Bridlington CM&C then to a CL in Kings Lynn at Easter for a week.

10 days late July as yet to be decided.

Another 10 days at the end of August at a CL in Shrewsbury.

Ocotber to Bridlington C&MC before another Christmad away as yet undecided.

Not even thought about where to go next year yet. We got home from our last 10 week trip on Monday and have booked 4 sites from the middle of December over the Christmas/New Year period and will continue on from there for another couple of weeks or so....where depends on the weather.

Yes' it is grea5 to be able to do it and yes, ‘van time’ is special!

This year for the first time we can remember we booked a site. That was due to going to France in August with daughter and family so no ACSI and full sites made booking a necessity.

The norm is to have one or two sites that look suitable in mind and head to the furthest on routes we have researched staying at sites that our experience tells us will be convenient for our journey.

As we usually holiday in May/June not had many problems with full sites so how long we stay dependis on how we feel, the weather etc.

We then decide which route we will take back and often this is where the ‘free styling’ kicks in to try and vary things.

We're booked for all the bank holidays next year, plus a week in Pickering in August and we've also booked the Hull - Zebrugge ferry for June when we will be visiting the Somme.   Need to chose a site for that but not in any rush yet.

We also tend to book CL's for some of the specific weekends that we like to attend such as 1940's, 60's and 70's in Pickering and Woodhall Spa as they get booked up year on year.

The rest of the year, we book as we go - if a site isn't available we just look for another.   I'd go away every weekend if I could afford it and work didn't get in the way.

All planned for 2019, ferry booked for 29th June, that's it, off ferry see where the sun is shining and head that way.  No further planning needed.

Did the same end of October and ended up in Germany, fantastic place (As were Belgium and Luxembourg en route) and really surprised is how much we liked it.

Got a week in March, may stay in UK then Jamaica end of April/beginning May for 12 days, probably a week in October time again somewhere.

Like others we still have a couple of trips booked for this year. We are going to the Christmas festival at M&Ds the second week of December so have booked a couple of nights at the clubs Strathclyde Park site and then we have 4 nights booked between Christmas and New Year at Edinburgh C&MC site. For next year we have already booked our 'main summer' holiday 2 and a half weeks at the clubs New Forest Centenary site looking forward to that as it is an area we have not really visited before. We normally go to Berwick CC site for the long weekend at the beginning of May so will most probably do that. We are also planning on heading to Chapel Lane in Birmingham for a week in October. Also we are going to Moffat for the classic car show at the end of June so will be staying at Moffat C&CC for 3 nights. Apart from that we will decide other places to go and hopefully get plenty of weekends at our 'local sites' Ayr Craigie, The Ranch, Strathclyde Park and Lomond Woods.

No, it's still 2018. I believe the main point of motor / caravanning is the ability to pack up and go at the drop of a hat.  No idea where or when we will go next year.  We'll doubtless make up our minds at a few days notice.  We might book sites for the UK, but if we go abroad, we never book.

I can tell you where we've been,  but not where we're going.

We never seem to have a particular destination, but just countries that our tour will take in. Always a 'circular' type of tour with most stops being of equal interest. Rarely booked but turn up and stay, and usually located near to places of interest which are the only bit of planning/homework involved.

April-July, Red Pennant, a CL near to Folkestone and the tunnel are all that's booked.

Return to the UK and hastily book a few sites/CL's for the remainder of the year.

    I hate planning David smile

That is why I do it at the back end of the year between our September tour and mid December break. During the 10 week break there is little that I want to do outside in the garden, I don't watch TV and so it fills a few afternoons. I look at areas that I have not visited or not visited for a long time. I also catch up with friends and visit daughters and OH's family. I booked our April/May and June July breaks a few weeks back. I see that our first site that is CC Wharfdale site is now showing fully booked.

We can go as and when but as we prefer to have a month to 7 or 8 weeks tours and to move every 5 days it suits us to plan a route and dates such that we have a few weeks at home between times to fit in appointments for health, money garden, jobs etc.

So far we have booked 8 CC sites, 3 C&CC sites and 3 commercial sites

We can’t go whenever we want due to our charity work commitments.  For our summer jaunt, over there, we will decide on dates and book the ferries.  I will have to do a little route planning and search for campsites en route but won’t book them.

We'll book some of one tour, of anything up to 10 weeks, while we're away on another. The first few sites will be booked and then we'll choose where we want to head onto.

We’ve got sites in Cumbria and Yorkshire booked for May but the rest of the year depends on any change to the pet passport scheme.

I booked 3 of my trips two years ago because it’s such a wonderful offgrid site. Another in Norfolk in January doing crop protection and shooting pigeons, back in April for 2 or 3 weeks- (already booked) and anything else I can squeeze in!
