Thanks for the 'heads up' TW.

No doubt CC Ltd's accountants have pointed out that their profit margins have slipped, so the obvious way to recoup the losses, rather than cutting any costs (like rebranding) is to charge the members more.

CL's it is for me next year

Thanks for the warning but I will not be booking anything.

Seriously considering whether to bother renewing membership next year. We joined the other club earlier this year and have been very happy with them and their sites. I don't mind paying a deposit as I only book a few days before going so am confidant I won't change anything. Prices are better and so is availability.

Got the email, nothing booked for next year so new prices it will be!

Magazine just arrived, flicked through - on the same date membership fee up by £1 to £52. Now £1 a week.

I wonder why the membership increase wasn't included? One email to draft, less person hour(s) oh I'm such a cynic. I wonder if there will be a notification of memberships rise? Or whether itll be just putting it in the magazine and new price when reminder sent out will be it!

The outlay on the debt for rebranding will be recouped quicker providing we all remain members and book club sites 😉

Edit as Nav says below and turn up and pay 😉😉😉

Maybe we all go and book whatever site we MIGHT think of staying on (at no cost) and then cancel a couple of days before start date.  Then there will be thousands of site nights showing booked that do not actually get taken up.  Accountants will be happy with price rise until it comes to no incoming monies.

    What???

We use the book to choose and price, what happens if you have limited or no Wi-Fi or 4g when away? This general assuming that everyone has access to internet is appalling if you're printing a directory it needs to be comprehensive! Is that because price structure is now so complex it needs too much room in print?

Out of curiosity I had a look at next years prices and dates.

Seems Easter (premium rate) is from 5/4 - 22/4.

Other club has it 12/4 - 27/4 for England and 1/4 - 22/4 for Scotland

I will be choosing my sites and clubs very carefully.

Another £1 rise on the membership frownhow come we never get any of the emails?

WE have opted out of club "junk mail" but then maybe we are better informed from more reliable sources

I’ve opted out of emails, TG, but got the one I posted. I’ve not had one about membership fees.

Checked our profile, I think we've opted out if emails 😉. But we got the one Tinwheeler has posted. Fee increase I got from latest magazine page 15.

Just checked ours, we hadn't opted out of emails  but had telephone and post, have just redone our options and updated it. Thanks for the heads up. smile Haven't got round to reading magazine yet.

I got the Email today. It struck me that there was a sense of desperation, perhaps as bookings are down and trying to generate a bit of froth. It could just be that they are missing the excitement of frenzy day, of course.

In corporate terms it is a terrible email.

    Objective:

Increase booking by motivating us to book 2019.

    Actual Email:

An uninspiring apology (with excuses) for putting up the prices whilst telling me I am missing out.

    Inspire me to book, no.
