Help in France
Hello - I will be landing in Caen, Normandy in our 6 meter MotorHome on 17th or 18th December (next month)
Does anyone know of a site that will be open then for three nights, we want to explore before heading south?
Many thanks

Camping les Capucines at Ranville should be open - but do contact them to say you are coming.

According to my simple Euro Camping ACSI search for Caen then
Campsite Le Manoir de l'Abbaye
Campsite Les Capucines
should be open but do double check & contact them.

Les Capucines is close by. It does have quite a few workers staying but their presence keeps it open. Let them know you want to stay beforehand. If booking in out of season hasn't changed recently then you'll find it closed when you get there. Ring through to Madame and she'll come down to the office and book you in. Of course you may want to stay somewhere else after the first night but it will have served its purpose.
Edit - Just re-read your opening post. It doesn't say what time ferry yoh are taking. I've just assumed it's the afternoon one.

Hi
Just returned to the UK (work) from Caen and the aire at Ouistreham looks in a bad way both barriers are off and it was empty which is unusual because of the proximity of the ferry, the number of immigrants seems to have doubled there and they seem to have the run of the town and maybe that is the reason so we drove over to Colleville-Montgomery about three miles away which as a good quiet aire for about ten places in a nice town.
