Caravan insurance for long term european storage
I'm planning to take my caravan over to the Netherlands for 3 months beginning mid March 2019. I will be using the caravan as a base when visiting family (esp new granddaughter!) for approximately 6 weeks in that period. I would like to take caravan insurance for the period that I'm over there including when I am not present, but I'm struggling to find an insurance company that will offer cover. Does anyone have suggestions?

Towergate provide insurance for caravans stored and used overseas for the entire year and so should cover your circumstances .

You could try C&CC. We do the same and have the camping in the Netherlands as where the van is stored.
Good Luck!

Tracy - have things changed? We were told, categorically, that the caravan couldn't be insured through the *CC (*as was) whilst left in storage or empty on a campsite, nor could we take advantage of Red Pennant because the policy had to insure us from home in the UK back to home in the UK. Mind you, it is a lot of years ago, and we've insured with Towergate since then.

Dear All, thanks for your helpful, useful comments.
Deleted User User you've hit the nail on the head - I can't get insurance (CC, or Aplan Insurance to name 2) for the period that I do not occupy the caravan as eloquently explained by ValDa Will try insuring in the Netherlands (with guidance from site owners) and compare with Towergate and C&CC.
Thanks again
