B2, as much as I like being complimented on my wise old comments I have to give credit where credit is due
& point out it was JVB66 who passed the comments about Hygiene !! I was the twerp cracking jokes at my aged sisters expense
!!
With respect to David K's comments about Diabetes & Doctors.
I have to admit that having been diagnosed in about 1990 ( never can remember ) I have seen D-nurses twice a year for 6 monthly blood test results and or fairly good check-ups. Since I moved on to Daily insulin I've had similar 6-monthly reviews with my G.P. AS WELL. . To be absolutely blunt they really do seem to care about my health & welfare and I have absolutely NO COMPLAINTS about the N.H.S. Care I get.
P.S. / edit
David if you are otherwise happy with your doc / nurses treatment of you and Margaret then I'd think very very carefully before thinking of changing -- I'm just rising 77 now & I've been with this one practice for 77.5 years ( think about it
! )

Looks like great trip and a grand discount, WN. Glad that you've got over your trip to your consultant, hope that nothing was amiss. Have a good time at Warwick, the forecast is for decent weather next week.

Hope that the final quiz went well, M. you certainly have spent a lot of time on them....well done.
Glad to hear that you're feeling somewhat better B2, and I hope that all others with colds, coughs etc get well soon.

Hi Nellie. Are you at Shrewsbury now? You haven't jinxed me just yet.
Results yesterday weren't great but it is what it is.
Really looking forward to a few days meandering with Mrs WN. Sorry we won't be around when you pass close by. When do you actually get home?

We are more than happy where we are. It was just an invitation for you you to join us if you would prefer the nurse to the doctor

Thanks folks for the good wishes for Trevor, he's on the mend and starting to feel better.
Moulesy well done with the quizzes, hope the last one raised lots of money.
Wherenext glad your trip plans are sorted, and hope you enjoy Warwick too. Seems people are getting on with making plans for next year, we've only managed to sort one long weekend so far. Can't get holiday dates confirmed at work until the new year either.
Mind you we have got a couple of weekends away this year to go yet.
Had some really heavy rain overnight and gusty winds, this morning however is bright and sunny, no plans will see how OH feels.

This can't be me I'm talking about - but having bought/ordered all the Christmas presents, I'm now tackling the freezer, to make room for extra food.
Haul so far - two turkeys, 4 large joints of beef, two ham joints, one large chicken, plus numerous bags of mince etc and packets of fish, and bags of veg.
Not to mention dishes and boxes of leftovers (I think it's mushroom soup for lunch).
All packed into the fridge and cool bags and boxes, until I scrape out and scoop all the long lost peas from the bottom of the freezer.
As I said - it can't be me - I'm not that organised!

WN, I've driven that coast road up to Colliure as well. I found the burnt out cars halfway down some of the gullies a bit disconcerting. Not a route for the nervous driver.

Yes David we will. We hope to arrive before the arrival of the Hirundines (Swallows, Swifts and Martins). There are literally thousands of them, usually between the 20th and 24th. March. There is always something to be seen there and even if not then it's quite a large area and so you can get a good walk in.

Up and out early today as a nurse wanted to stick a needle in my arm. Flu jab done for another year. Whilst waiting I noticed 3 missed appointments with a doctor, all before 9 a.m. It's a wonder they don't introduce a system like the CMC do.
Came home and packed the caravan for tomorrow.
CY - We've seen a few of those cars ourselves. I guess we take it easier anyway , what with right hand drive etc. The French side is quite nice but I'm not that keen on the Spanish side until you get nearer Cadaques.
Helen, thanks for your message. Hope T is back to full fitness and it won't be long before you are away.

Started out bright and sunny this morning after what was a very windy and wet night. It's now gone grey and dull but OH is outside washing the car and giving it a clean inside.
We are off to QVS(Queen Victoria School) tomorrow for the Remembrance parade and service, it will be even bigger this year as its the 100th Anniversary of WWI. Both our boys and now our grand daughter have attended this school, which has a lot of history. I expect the school chapel will be packed out tomorrow. With a bit of luck it won't rain and will be warmer than it was last yea,r when it was sub zero with the wind chill (I had a cold then as well)
Another good nights sleep and feeling a bit better today
I'm just taking it easy and staying in the warmth.
Glad to hear others are doing well and still out and about enjoying themselves.
Goldie, well done. My freezer is now full but I've not thought about Christmas presents yet. Still got my eldest grand daughters birthday next week, then another couple of other birthdays before Christmas.

Yes we're here till Monday then 4 nights at Chester before 3 at Preston and then home. Just discussing where to head for over Christmas and the New Year.
Sorry to hear that the results weren't too promising, and that our paths won't cross next week. Enjoy your time at Warwick.

So the weather today reflected the sombre mood of the remembrance parade and service. The service was held as usual in the school chapel, the children (young people) we as usual excellent.
Prior to the service there was music from the school pipes and drums, with an excellent piece by the drummers. The Scottish dancers gave us a few dances too. Then after the church service the whole school was on parade, the rain started just as they had all stopped marching.
Back home now, still miserable outside but nice and warm in the house.

At least on here one doesn't hear any rising cadence as a sentence nears its end, as if the speaker isn't quite sure and it comes out as a question. Seems to be a lot of that around in the last few years.
An easy drive to Warwick and a walk to stretch our legs. Just letting the wine warm up a bit.

OH's pacemaker op has been rescheduled for this week! Her emotions have been all over the place, understandable but it certainly takes it out of you. It's been like walking on eggshells.
Went down to North Berwick today, it was beautiful as was the ice creams!

All the best for your OH's op robsail. I hope all goes well.
So glad to hear that your OH is beginning to feel better Helen.
Your day at your grand-daughter's school sounds excellent Tammygirl. I am glad the rain held off for most of the time.
I had a wonderful day shopping in MK with daughter and grand-daughter yesterday. Lots of eating and chatting as well but we did make a good start on the Christmas shopping. I am feeling rather tired today though. Result!! Daughter has said that they will host Christmas day and son will host Boxing Day so OH and I can relax and enjoy Christmas although it will feel very strange. We will catch up with the NI family in the New Year.
OH has 2 appointments tomorrow, first one at the GP surgery and the second in the afternoon is a scan at the hospital. We are gradually ticking them off.
We decided to go to Evensong today as it was a quieter and more reflective service.

Hope that your wife's operation goes well, robsail, for the sake of both of you.
Best wishes for your OH's appointments , millie.
Glad to see that you've made it away this time WN.

For the first time since we came to live here, 30 years back, we did not attend the service at the local war memorial. We had intended to go but when we came out of the house we found it was raining heavily.
With OH still not feeling too great, still coughing and sore sinuses, we decided that standing in the cold and wet was not a good idea.
