Sites Valencia area for January

I would have thought it would be worth considering Bonterra Park at Benicassim, a terrific site, lovely location in a 'real' Spanish town with loads going on.

La Llosa is in a good location near the long promenade, and to walk into Cambrils and the supermarkets.  A lot of the pitches are on the small side (the cycle rack on our 6.99M motorhome fortunately sat over the hedge).  Not all washrooms were open when we were there in March, but were adequate with plenty of hot water.

Alegria del Mar is set amongst farm land just outside the town (you can walk into town, although not a particularly scenic route).  Washroom were old but once again plenty of hot water.   Watch out parking under the trees, the birds use you for target practice.  Cycle, bus or drive to Peniscola.

Just thought-if you are wanting to visit Valencia there is a site called Valencia Camper park in Betera which has very good facilities, nice bar & restaurant and very close to direct rail transport into the city.

Not a full site with entertainment etc and pool will be closed in January

It is an ACSI site and they usually have room to just turn up or you can book if you prefer. Found them very friendly when we stay there. We always overnight there on our journey south-I'ts easily reached in 1 day from Bilbao ferry

We live in Spain so have visited all the sites named and three of those site are no where near Valencia but in Tarragona and are too far north if you are coming for the winter weather. North of Valencia Bonterra is the best site and we are there for a weekend middle of November to visit friends but had to book back in July to get three days together. IMHO the sites south of Valencia are of a better quality on a par with CaMC but already some are full so you will need to book if you are coming over winter. We live near Alicante and three sites near to us are pretty good the two Marjal sites and the one at La Marina are all of excellent quality and the weather is usually a lot better this far south.

If it is Valencia  you want to visit the best site is one at Betera although a camper stop it does take caravans you just have to leave your car outside with the tram stop 50 yards way into the city really like this site which we visit often.

Torre le sal 2 is a great site. We have used it numerous times. Beats Bonterra Park for facilities, pitch sizes, proximity to beach, 2 pools (1 covered). 2 restaurants. Decent shop and a Mercadona 5 minutes drivevaway.

Go for a pitch in the new part of the site,, not the beach side of the road.

I really don't understand why Bonterra Park is so popular on this forum. It is very crowded, with relatively small pitches and full of Brits. TLS 2 is quite eclectic, with a mix of Dutch, German and Brits.

We have stayed on all the sites you mentioned going back and forth to the UK {we try and stay on sites we have not stayed on before) and most are good Spanish sites without being fantastic although Alegria del  Mar is owned by a British couple i think but if i had to choose i would pick Camping Ametlla Village Platja which is a nice little site near a typical Spanish town. If you dont fancy Bonterra and want somewhere new but as good i would plump for Camping Eden at Peniscola which is an excellent site right on the Promenade with excellent facilities and Peniscola is a lovely town both old and new and it is in ACSI which always helps.

Most of the sites south of Valencia will have been booked solid for several months. We were recently at La Manga but could not stay for more than 3 weeks as the site was full from late October onward, Last year we sere at Bonterra Park in early September for as couple of weeks. By mid-September the site was full and only those with reservations were allowed in. Further north the sites are generally closed over winter as it is too cold for long stayers.

If like most that  companies that have an "agreement" to promote a site the destination would have "space" for their customers
