Looking for some suggestions for a great site for new year.

We are a family with a dog and have for the last few years gone away over new year.

So after some new suggestions.

the ideal is....

some where close to walk to in the evening

a beach close drive away

We have stayed walking distance from Cowes on the IoW, Sandringham and in the peak district.

Thanks

Edinburgh, but you'll be lucky to get in now. Some lovely beaches further East along coast.

I understand that Blackpool might have a beach plus one or two other things to do.smile

Edinburgh would be lovely but too far for this little get away.

Blackpool - not our thing really

And Padstow - I will have a look but again might be a bit far

Hillhead near Brixham or similar in the area. You might even get tickets for the celebrations if you let them know you're interested but a lot of people go there just for a New Year break, all hardstandings in winter. It may be fully booked already but phone the office for info.

Seacroft is open until the New Year.  I know that as we are booked to go there.  You have to phone the site direct to book for Christmas and New Year.

    Something screwy there I suspect.

ET, perhaps all pitches are booked from 20th  Dec till site closes, perhaps 4th Jan, and then the site reopens in early  to mid Feb....just a thought.

If that is the case the site opens mid Feb Nellie. I would be surprised if it were fully booked from 20th December which is a Thursday but no idea

I thought Englethwaite Hall was fully booked recently because the whole page was orange.  I tried again later and made a successful booking.  They have ONE grass pitch which was closed due to weather so at first glance the whole site was booked up!  They told me they would take it up with the club as I wasn't the only person to think there was no space!  It could happen at other sites where grass is closed for winter?

There is not normally an option of pitch being either grass or hard stand though
