Semi-permanent roof cover (for acorns)
Does anybody know of a semi-permanent roof cover that can be used to stop acorns, bird droppings etc from reaching my van roof while it is in use. I've been offered a seasonal site in woodland, but many of the other owners say the main bug-bear is things dropping on the van roof day & night. I was thinking of some sort of canopy suspended over the roof of the van supported by fairly sturdy metal poles (like a fly-sheet on a tent) or some netting that could be suspended above the van roof using some fixings that run in the awning-slots or gutters (rather like a roof-rack). Any thoughts/ideas would be welcome.

Thanks Eurotraveller. Your photo shows a possible solution. I've not seen those before, only some continental touring sites where touring vans are parked under a corrugated iron roof shelter, and I've always presumed they were to combat extreme heat (i.e. direct sunshine) in places like Spain & Portugal.
Your photo shows a double skinned roof, similar to the idea of a 'Safari Roof' that used to be an option on some old Land Rover models that were used in Africa.
Worth looking into. Thanks

My mind is boggling. This is hilarious.

Would you need an inflated opinion of yourself to use one?
