Changes of name for fuels throughout Europe

Spotted this today -- about the name changes for fuels at fuel stations from the 12th October. Apparently you will no longer be buying 'diesel', or SP95 or SP98, but one of the wonderful new range of (confusing) numbered fuels...........!

I hope this is 'real news'. It does appear in more than one source, but sometimes these things appear all over the internet and yet turn out to be fake news.  There seems to be little available in English, however, and certainly nothing mentioned by any of the clubs.

    In Germany petrol has been sold with the labelling described for a number of years already. It's doesn't real make things any more confusing because the brand names and octane rating designations remain.

    The labelling was introduced because it was found that E10 is detrimental to the engines of some older cars and others unsuitable for biodiesel.

    Thanks for that,didn't know about the change,so instead of Gasoil it will be B7 now,going down to Croatia next May.

    Just come back from Spain and France. The names haven't been changed at all. Only an additional sticker has appeared on the pumps. Gasoil ist still Gasoil.
