Slow day here today, did washing this morning now all dry. Off out for a cycle in a bit, then pick up some fresh milk and ice cream on the way back. Cooler today with a good breeze about 25c.

DSB wishing you a successful op and recovery. Always good to have a contingency 😉. Just don't catch anything before Monday!

Good to hear about everyone's travels. Still at home ourselves 😢. But the sun is shining 🌞🌞 so that's nice. Been over to motorhome storage, good sweep out if it, slut that I am didn't do it before we walked off after last outing! 😲😂. We noticed a dribble after Sunday's heavy rain so OH found the bits were sealant had got tired and replaced, hopefully all will be well now. It is 16 next month so to be expected, otherwise readings are all 0 😂. Hope to get away the week after next if everything stays in it's rightful orbit - fingers crossed.

Lunched in the garden and a chill in afternoon in the sun with a book for both of us. Got to enjoy what you can when you can 😉😉. Had a lovely meal with friends at the local Turkish yesterday evening. I knew not to order starter as complimentary sharing bits, olives, dips, flatbread and salad is generous 😂, the others did! I brought half of my main home even then so my meal sorted for tonight 😁. Others made a good attempt at theirs almost finishing. As I've said before next time I'm having a starter and pudding!!! Had a very nice couple of bottles of kiwi wine - unusual for myself and OH as I'm not keen on any alcohol taste he doesn't bother much either, so great time all round.

Wish we could join you JVB and HelenandTrevor at FM this weekend, sounds like a good weekend on the railway, might even have caught a glimpse of son and DIL2B! Keep on enjoying whatever you're doing.

DSB - I haven't had the (mis)fortune to have had one but MIL had a new knee in May last year. What I can say is that she put herself through a lot of pain afterwards in doing all of the exercises that were required of her. When she went back to the surgeon he said that over 80% of the patients he sees don't have the willpower to do them and therefore they don't get the benefit of having a new knee. MIL is now 85 and was able to take part in a full Bowls season this year unlike one of her "companions" who attended Phsyio with her who can hardly walk. She gave Physio up after 3 weeks as it was hurting.

So Good Luck with it and I sincerely hope that after 6 months you'll be able to look the surgeon in the eye and say "I did it"

Lots of running around today. Loading up with shopping, buying a new low wattage kettle and toaster as both packed up on our last trip, washing the van, restocking the van etc.

Nice day for the washing to dry. Now off to give the car a hoover and put the dry and ironed clothes back in for the weekend.

Good luck with the op, David - it'll surely be a relief to get it done after all the waiting!

Taking advantage of the good weather forecast over the next few days by popping up to Cirencester Park - just me at the moment, Mrs M and Lady will be joining me at the weekend. It's been a lovely sunny afternoon - I've walked up through the park towards the polo ground.  Must say it feels very odd walking without a dog, don't quite know what to do with my hands!

Thanks JVB. We must give it a try sometime. Is it dog  friendly? Asking for others as we don't sadly have a dog anymore other than our son and DIL's lovely Jessie.

I went for a swim this afternoon followed by a wonderful back massage. I am now rejuvenated.

Looking forward to catching up with Helen and Trevor at the  weekend.😊

Thanks for your good wishes - it's really appreciated.  After having already had two shoulders and one knee replaced already, it still doesn't get any easier!  The same as anyone else, I'm still not actually looking forward to the process, put will be relieved when it's all done and dusted.  No doubt I will be posting from my hospital bed.... 😀😀

Another fine sunny day, with temperature of about 20 C. Spent an hour or so viewing new caravans at Highbridge and saw a few that we like the style of, but managed to keep the wallet firmly closed. Then drove up to Weston and gave Flyte a good run on the sands before walking along the front to the Great Pier. Plenty of people about, even a party of school children playing on the beach....seems a strange time for a school trip but perhaps they were just making the best of the fine weather. Managed an hour or so back at the van sat out in the sun with the shirt off it was that warm. Long may this weather last.

Yes to both. Thanks for the recommendation, we think the site's great value at £10 pn still. They are in the process of adding a new toilet & shower so I guess that the price will rise then. Stacks of room on the site at the moment even with a couple of vans that arrived today.

Enjoy your weekend at FM, you might just meet JVB as well as millie & OH.

Have a good rest at Cirencester, M, although I guess that you'll get a few walks in before OH & Lady come at the weekend.

Safe trip home Deleted User User. Sounds like you had glorious weather 🌞. Don't forget to have extra layers accessible as you progress towards home!

Another glorious but chilly start to the day here in Essex. No complaints I'd rather have this than the grey stuff.

Off to mum today she wants new cardigan so taking her to the shops for that. A rare treat for us both 😉 I expect. I've already bought her Christmas cards, she likes to start them early as it takes her a long time as she can now only write about 5 a day. She asked for a figure but said she'd not checked what she'd got, a week later I asked if she'd checked how much she needed " no I haven't - go for what I said any extras will do for next year" she'll be 89 next year so good to know she's planning ahead 😂. Her face has recovered well from the surgery, it was badly bruised she looked like she'd been in the boxing ring 😲😲 you can hardly see the cuts and it's only been 3.5 weeks. Nothing but praise for the plastic surgeon's skill.

    Enjoy your your day folks

Mrs One went to pick up the new (to us) Scout minibus 🚐, it’s a 17 seat Ford Transit, only 3 years old.  Will have to arrange for new decals to be sorted when I get home.

Wall to wall blue sky and bright sun 🌞 this morning. Going out for a drive north of Soltua this morning to walk some of our old favourite areas of the heide.

Enjoy your various trips and meet ups.

Although we still have our old dog we can't do walks just short strolls so in this nice weather I think I'll have to amble off on my own but it does feel strange.

Had a lovely evening last night hearing the BSO play Dvorak's New World Symphony, also Brahms and a young Norwegian soloist, Sonoko Welde playing a well known Mendelssohn concerto. They're playing in Barnstaple tonight, good to see them locally.

Electric car goes in for it's first service today, hope they don't loosen any wires! wink

Brue glad you enjoyed the concert,

We missed not having a dog when we lost our first collie , OH liked to go for a walk after he finished work but he said it didn't feel right on his own.

It a beautiful morning here too, been out with the dog, sun was rising above the motorway and an almost full moon visible over the houses. Last day at work for this week, yippee laughing

Enjoy the weather everyone  & safe trip AD.

Well that was interesting, for the EV service the fob was put on the computer and everything we have done with the car appeared including the way it was driven.....I hope it didn't include some of the arguments!! laughing
