Brexit 2018 - Travelling to Europe

Won't bother us, and I think many thousands like us, in the slightest. There are more than enough places in this country (UK) for us to visit, as we are finding new places every time we go away.

Our first 'camping' travel in Europe, was with a 'motorhome' (Bedford Adventura, with double bed over the cab and another in the rear of the van, shower and toilet!!!!) was in 1976 when we visited Czechoslovakia to meet up with pen friends. We had to exchange a guaranteed amount of money, visit a police station every day during our visit, and couldn't bring any of our money back out again, so gave it to our penfriends when we left. We had an absolutely great time then. It was different - it may be different again in 2019 - but we'll get by!
They won't ban us entirely - they need the income! Stop worrying

Having tried to persuade friends and family in Norway to vote to join the EU, they are actually in it in all but the legal formalities, I am unhappy that it seems we are leaving, but optomistic that we will either get a deal or a new vote.
Whatever happens, we will still travel aboad if we wish, we did it before EU membership, cannot see it being more difficult in the future.

That's typical, just as I get my passport,I looks like Europe won't let me in !!
buy seriously , do people really think that we will be stopped from traveling across Europe? ,they (Europe) need us to spend our money as much as we need them
remember the panic over the miliumium bug ? ,nothing happened then

No one thinks we will be stopped from travelling, my small concern is Brexit end of March 2019 and we always set off mid April. It is this short transition period that that sets me thinking have I the time to have in place all that is required. It means my forward planning is curtailed a little because its all up in the air, which would be fine if we were setting off late summer 2019.

The pet passport is of concern to us. The thing that would stop us going is if they brought back the six months quarantine.
Otherwise im just going to wait and see.

We always go to France for May and early June and I think next year we will just have a holiday in this country at that time. When things have had time to settle down we will go in September.
As others have said we went before the EU without too much of a problem and those in the tourist industry will still want our money. I for one will be happy for them to have it.

The quarantine was a UK requirement, nothing to do with being in or out of the EU, so it would be the remainers who will impose it!
Just like the need for International Driving Licenses, more rubbish. Yes you might need one, but they are Permits, not Licenses and cost £5.50 from most Post Offices.
The 29th March is the height of the influx of Dutch Daffs and Tulips. as they now won't be coming over, there will be a lot more room for us caravaners on the ferries.

Green Cards for insurance, International Driving licence needed. I remember them well from Pre EU days, and it was no hassle then so why would it be now? Big black and white GB stickers on the back? Some peeps still have those ugly things, but again what's the problem?
Regarding dog passports, that would be a deal breaker for me, but I don't see why there should be a problem unless our useless Politicians cause one. Since when did our French friends ever want a dog passport? It is the Brit end that wants it for re-entry at the moment. Once through the tunnel, in travels all over Europe, my dog has never had to produce her passport, apart from at the vets just before return, until she reaches the tunnel / ferry on the way back. Maybe if she got caught speeding she would need it, but would probably dodge that by blaming me :-)))

Ha, If they don't let us back in there'll be many sites next year without wardens!!

The pet passport is a UK requirement too, only required for coming back into this country.

We were all able to travel and tour Europe long before the advent of the EU. We were able to buy property and live in Europe long before the EU was formed . Nothing much will change with Brexit, we will still have to change our currency from sterling to the euro, still have to learn some of the language of the country/s we wish to tour, we will still have to go through customs at either end. we might possibly see an end to bucket airlines like Ryanair ( no bad thing IMHO ), Ferries will still run as normal. Despite what the doom mongers are predicting, life for the UK citizen will carry on as usual.

It may adversely affect those who want to cover more than one country, but France is big enough for us!
