Perhaps the C & MC should take a leaf out of the TSB process and part company with its top people given the regular disasters with its computers. Either that or the club need to recruit quality to ensure real reliability..

We apologise for any inconvenience. My understanding is that you should all be able to book tomorrow and I will double check this and confirm.

It would seem the IT department got there days and dates mixed up. On the club news section it states:-

    Launch day – 6 September

On launch day (Wednesday 6 September), you will be given 10 minute ‘slots’ to make each booking. We have to limit time spent making a reservation to be fair to all users and keep the system running smoothly. We recommend you have a list of your preferred sites and dates – as well as alternatives to hand. 2019 prices can be found within the price table on each UK Club site website page.

However, Wednesday is of course the 5th.

So not the first Wednesday of the month, as was speculated. Well certainly not this month.

Confirms that the clubs IT section is 2nd rate and not fit for such a multi million pound product. Perhaps its time the DG fell on his sword after all it keeps happening on his "Watch" an overr paid one at that.

to be fair is this the first problem with 'booking day' ? I seem to recall been able to book quite easily on the last few times?

Anyway it's good to see W&J that you are still booking club sitessmile

Just by chance I was trying to find out the price of a site for this weekend compared to a nearby commercial site. All I could get was I was in a queue of 820 others!

Why go to the booking page to find out the price for this weekend? Just go to the site's page itself - it's all there! smile

Well if the queue was genuine it certainly wasn't for the site I was interested in. It has over 80 pitches free. Even so the Club would not have had my booking, the commercial site was much cheaper with more facilities.

How do you know this? Can you see which of those in the queue are going for which site?

And I don't suppose you could name either site?

That's a bit vague, PD. OK if you don't want to name the sites but how much cheaper and what extra facilities?  Of course, it would be even better if you did name the sites,  but I won't hold my breath! wink

Now that is a surprise to find yet another site with no name has more facilities than an unamed CC site.

interesting PD, are you asking if the queue was genuine because you realised that your posting that makes the club popular with so many in the queue on booking day? Sort of negates your views that club sites are too expensive doesn't it and no body want them?

or are you suggesting the club does the queue thing to to make it sound like there is a huge demand? That doesn't sound sensible to me? And actually far too clever for the club?

the search facility took you to the booking page? You didn't mention this before at all, well I hope you have sent an e mail in to the club regarding this serious glitch?

That's very odd then because I've been looking at a couple of sites for later in the year today. Typed their names into the search box, clicked on site name from the results and went straight to those sites. Which site were you looking for?

Edit - cross posted, glad it's been sorted. Still very strange though!

You are a disbelieving lot! This thread is about IT glitches so if I am going to post the info anywhere it will be on the thread about Club sites being expensive.

Edit - The queue wasn’t for a specific club site it was for the club booking system and I know you won’t doubt me when I say I was 950 in the queue

If the queue was genuine the Club has not solved the problems of booking day by going to a rolling booking system

I'm really lost here, moving on from searching for a club site price (and why btw as you think they are all expensive and better sites are out there?) that by a IT 'glitch' which no one else has reported, you end up on the booking queue, then when you perhaps realise that makes the club popular so you claim the queue is false (and again why would the club do this?) now you have found another  angle that says if the queue is genuine then the club has not solved the booking 'problems'

PD - you can't have it all ways

I am currently on a club site and this morning I needed to check availability and book etc , I was 374 in the queue , and hour later when I tried again I was still 374. I went to see the warden and they had no problem with their system , however I was advised to ring head office to book , however when I rang them they were unable to take bookings over the phone for about two hours as they had a glitch , I was also told if my booking was for 2019 , I had to wait another day before they could do it.
