Hi folks

We've just booked ourselves the 02.23 crossing from Folkestone on a Friday night (using our frequent traveller account) and are wondering if anyone else has tried this one. How early can we turn up (I know they say two hours leeway but ...) and how likely is it we would be put on an earlier/later train?

Any other advice welcome

Cheers

Jane

We used to arrive around 10pm for next morning 0720 train, always slept in their car park, until it started to get too noisy around 5am when cars full of kids would turn up, clashing doors and shouting and screaming.    If we use the tunnel now we stay at The Club site at Densole.

If it is quiet you may well be offered an earlier train.    If you get the 2.23 train what will you do when you get to France, sleep or drive?

We will probably sleep - either at Cité Europe or at the new Calais Aire - probably the latter as we aren’t in a huge rush to head off in the morning and it’s lovely and quiet there

I suppose its a question no one can really answer as the situation could change depending on the circumstances of the day? If they are not busy (hardly likely at that time of night) they will probably put you on the next available depending on how the automatic booths are programmed? They might just send you to the car park.
