I remember a piece on Anglia TV or BBC East a while ago about a spate of break ins in both Suffolk and Norfolk that were being carried out and the perpetrators were known to be coming from London
ps if i remember some were caught useing ANPR cameras to track their routes

Ok guys, I haven't been a member of this forum very long, and when I joined, I thought that being hosted by the club, it would be a 'cut above' the usual Facebook culture.
Ignoring this current 'thread', having read back through many old 'threads', I can see that it is little different to Facebook (aka Jeremy Kyle's waiting room). It has its fair share of 'keyboard warriors', 'windup merchants'. and Trolls, who hide behind pseudonyms. Face to face, they are probably really nice people, but put them behind a keyboard, on a forum, hidden behind a pseudonym, and it becomes a Jekyll and Hyde scenario. A bit like some folk change when they get behind the wheel of a car.
Although they are a minority among the members here, they make for an unpleasant atmosphere.
BTW, Dave L S is not a pseudonym, but my real Christian name, and last two initials.

Why do you find it necessary to repeat an earlier post which perpetuates the very thing you're complaining about, Dave? Far better to simply let it go. It’s over.

I also think that what this forum lacks is the ability to be able to communicate with other members in a private message?

It is possible if you choose not to use the forums that demand your real name like C&CC.
I argued with them in the early days but they decided to stick to their guns. It's their choice but, equally, it’s my choice is not to post on it. I know you choose differently.

I was born and raised in London, Tottenham to be precise, I lived in London for the next 43 years, and only. moved to Suffolk in 1985 on a company move.
So no, I was not being derogatory towards Londoners.
You must be careful not to make make assumptions.
Albeit, the home counties are now having major/serious problems with drugs gangs from London, now coming out to peddle their wares in the home counties. The Police call it the 'Countly Line' problem.

I would never choose to post my surname of internet forums, that is too much information to disclose on such an insecure medium. Don't be fooled by the https letters.
However, I see no reason to conceal my first name, as to me its a much more friendly approach, than using something like 'wingnut'.

Well now you know, post too much information and you will lose your van or get burgled....or you could be like us, get burgled anyway whilst you are asleep...and we were living a long way from London and had been studying rocket science for several years...

It is a serious problem, with local youngsters being co-opted by the these gangs, to peddle the drugs to the 'users'.
There have been drug gang related Murders in our county town.
Something that was once confined to the big cities.
Very worrying!!

Our MH is so tucked away that even our neighbours don’t notice if it's missing. In fact, I’m not sure many realise we've got one.😆

I have plenty of room to keep the mho on the drive, but it would be in full view of anyone passing, and very obvíous to the observant thief, when it was not, and that we could well be away in it.
I made the conscious decision keep it in a 'gold award coaasa storage site. Nowhere is 100% secure, but I feel that it's more secure than on my drive.
It's also less obvious as to when we are away from home.

Each to their own, Dave. Personally, I’d never want to keep a MH in storage as it’s a motor vehicle which benefits from being used. Part of the joy for us is deciding to have an impromptu day out in it and we can just go outside and hop in. Since reducing to just one car, the MH is our second means of transport and, if it’s used frequently, it also helps confuse any ne'er do well.

If I could keep it home, and hidden from view, I certainly would.
However, if parked on my drive it would be just too evident, and I read of so many of them being stolen from peoples drives.
The storage site, is conveniently close, just a ten minute cycle ride away, and I don't even have to cycle on the road.
I put the bike on the rack, and bring it back home with me, the reverse when taking the mho back to storage.
The nice thing is that my car is not left at the storage site, but in my garage.
