Irritating pop box

I think that is somewhat unfair. Clearly the Club are trying to come up with ways of introducing this type of option to make it easier for some members to get access to information. To their credit they have listened to what we have said and amended and removed and no doubt are having another think. Sometimes its a case of best laid plans etc. These things need testing on real users which is what they have done, but they have listened.

These things need testing away from real users first to ensure that they actually work before being let out into the real world David!
Why anyone thinks it a good idea to have a damned pop up when there is already a FAQ button to do the same is anybody's guess. If it was thought necessary they could simply have highlighted said button.

I agree Oneputt. First level testing would not be a bad idea either.
Why should the FAQ pop up be needed on the FAQ page also?

I have seen the message 'Content removed' in threads where persons have taken umbrage against another for so called personal attack and/or name calling, yet here it is a free for all attack on the IT department.
Double standards or what!

this morning I had a different orange pop up box 'advertising' midweek discount...I didn't read it thoroughly, just clicked the 'X' and it went away.
perhaps CC have asked IT to 'explore' other avenues beyond the 'ask your question here' box....?

A bit like this one - a box over a box?
At least it’s being worked on which is progress.
I hope Fink comes back and tells us more. 👍🏻

I had the pleasure of that yesterday on my phone. I did post about it, but no screen shot.
Delighted to say no sign of it today. So far 😉. Only been on my phone since 1215 but wasn't on my tablet this morning but it wasn't there yesterday.

Don't worry B2. 24 August 1215, the Pope declared it invalid.

I seem to be getting a blue/green disc with a white ? mark in the middle of it, in the bottom LH corner whenever I log into the CL search page.

It seems only visible when you leave the forum. I am getting a small green circle (quite discreet) in the bottom left of the screen. Nothing happens to it unless you touch it either with the mouse of finger. It seems as though they have listened and adjusted to get the best solution. This is using a desktop computer running Windows 10. I checked on my Android phone, using the same page as on my PC, and it doesn't seem to appear on there at all?

I just logged in a few minutes ago and saw this green circle with the question mark. It appeared right over the log in box but I shoved the screen up a bit and the log inbox moved but the question mark stayed put, didn't dare to touch the green circle though!!

Surely the FAQ button has a completely different function? You use that to get to a prepared list of questions/answers, what do you do if what you want to know is not catered for? I see the purpose of the new function as being able to ask about something that is not in the FAQ so an additional feature as I see it.

You type in a question and it searches a list of pre-prepared questions and answers. It’s no help if you want to ask something that isn’t in the list.

The only difference between it and the FAQ button, from what has been said, is that they are monitoring what questions are asked and increasing it knowledge base. So although you might not get an answer. Someone else might, in a day or so, when the answer has been added.
I would have thought that would have been possible utilising the FAQ button. Without the need to further clutter the screen.☹️

Annoying things can pop up all over the place, I find. 🤨
