Would love to be able to book a serviced grass pitch, but CC don't provide them Tongue Out

Fortunately there are commercial sites that do, and at a lower price than a plain grass CC one Tongue Out

Why doesn't everybody give some consideration to the site staff who have to keep the pitches in good order.  ---- On sites with a mixture of grass and H/s pitches, it should be possible to allocate h/s to heavy vehicles which go off site on a daily basis. Units which stay on the pitch for the duration of the holiday are less likely to damage grass pitches. Let the site staff decide who is more likely to damage grass pitches and make a decision to allocate h/s to those customers.  It's really quite sensible.

Would that actually work? A heavy MH might be staying for three weeks but the warden has no idea whether he would on and off the pitch during his stay.

Hmmm allocate hardstands for motorhomes. A great way to reduce pitch occupancy on sites having 25% grass pitches for example.

Oh Ye of little Faith.  wink -- Try trusting the site staff to run and control  their particular site in a way which is beneficial to customers and protects the pitches at the same time.   The site staff know best which pitches are prone to damage----- trust them to allocate those, to the least damaging of camping units.smile

    cool

    No thanks K.

I think I'll just keep using CAMC sites, where I am able to choose from those available.😀 Although I am sure if you asked, they would tell you where to go.😉

Please, please, please don’t convert everything to hardstandings. My heart sinks when I turn up at a site to see rows and rows of regimented hardstandings where the only view from your caravan is straight into the window of the van opposite! Please leave plenty of grass pitches for those of us who prefer a more open grass area. Surely we have to try and accommodate everybody’s preferences?

I wouldn’t worry, Mystery. That was two years ago and I’ve seen no sign of it happening yet.

Here here ..... acres & acres of gravel do nothing for me, especially when one gravel pitch merges with the gravel pitch next to it.
