Are you required to carry a breathalyzer kit in Spain like you have to in France

Although it's not a legal requirement anymore in France I have never read about it ever being a requirement in Spain

Years ago it was for a short period a legal requirement to have a breathalyzer when in France but it was not enforced and seems to have been dropped.  Agree with Harry not needed in Spain - but they do require you to have spare glasses if you wear them.  Also the 'long load' marker boards are required in Spain if your total length exceeds 12m.

DD.  Your useful link is not for the long vehicle bur for something that extends beyond the length of your vehicle such as a cycle rack.  The ones needed for a 12m+ caravan/car are similar to those fitted to lorries.

It's only Spain and Italy that require specific boards to mark overhanging loads. Admittedly the two countries have different requirements as to their design.

Spain also has a requirement for outfits over 12m overall length, but that is something different again.

Is there a specific overhang beyond which a marker board is required?

I have been pondering the same question for my first trip abroad to France. It appears from various sources that it is still a legal requirement in France to carry a breathalizer kit, however it is not enforced with a fine and the locals seem to ignore it.

All this is covered in the 'Overseas Holidays' - 'Need to know'  section accessible through the top of this page.  Hope the Club has got it's facts correct.
