New Purchase - 2016 Swift Challenger 530
After our disappointment of our new 2018 Swift Challenger purchase falling through at the last minute back in June due to the dealer wanting another £1800 on top of what was already agreed, we had decided not to bother with changing the van and just stick with what we knew - after all, we love our current van, we just fancied a newer one!
However, we called into Couplands at Louth over the weekend 'just for a look' and have come away purchasing a lovely 2016 Swift Challenger 530, which has barely been used. In great condition and looking forward to many years ahead of great travels. We love the side dinette layout and the previous owner (who had bought it from Couplands originally) had added some lovely additional extras such as Alde, ATC and a few other bits and bobs. We were very impressed with the dealer, who I'm sure will have it all ready for us to collect in a couple of weeks. Some of the little touches which swayed us was a free pigtail, new number plate and low deposit added to the ability to pay the balance on the day once we are satisfied - all of which were extra on our previous purchase. There was no pressure and ample time to view, consider and review the deal. As we had our trade-in with us, they were able to give it the once over there and then and having found some damp, adjust the price accordingly, which was agreed and the deal done.
Excited to know that we will after all get a newer van as planned, and not at all disappointed that it isn't brand new, just new to us.
Wish us luck for a happy ending

I have a 2008 Coachman Amara purchased from Couplands, not by me but by the previous owner, they told me just how good Couplands were and showed me the snagging list, or lack of, from when they bought new. The van is still in brilliant condition, little or no damp which seems to affect a lot of much newer makes. Just put in new carpets and the inside now looks like new although it is well used. Good to see a reputable dealer still being reputable. If you should need new carpets check out "KUSTOMSPORT", sent me samples in the post and returned new carpets in 5 days from date of choosing, not cheap but they are the business.

Looks as if you're on a winner there, Moonstone. Hope everything goes well.

I hope everything goes well for you - and that you have a totally different experience to mine with Couplands - suffice it to say I won't even go in their accessory shop after the treatment I had. Not once but twice I experienced incompetent work of the gas fittings and it was extremely lucky the first incident didn't end in total disaster. There were also problems of the Loo leaking into the locker which is an extremely unpleasant experience and they kept telling me it was my fault for not closing the blade. In the end they replaced the top of it - and guess what it still leaked and I had been told they could no longer guarantee the loo. If they had done their job properly they would have discovered that the seal where the top and bottom halves of the cassette had sprung a leak - and guess what - nothing has gone wrong with it since I replaced the cassette.
I know I am not the only one to have problems with them so please be careful and brush up on your consumer rights!

Yes I did - and will pay a good majority of the balance on it too. Incidentally, the original dealer asked for £1000 deposit (paid on credit card) but wouldn't accept the balance via credit card - had to be paid by bank transfer in advance of collection. Wasn't happy at the time and as it happened, had to wait for a refund when the sale collapsed.
More than happy so far with Couplands - had read many good reviews about them which definitely outweighed the bad which is unusual as reviewers often more inclined to leave bad. No pressure selling and nothing too much trouble - felt like a true family firm.
The proof will be in the collection and after sales - will report back once we have the van and have been away for a shakedown.

We were staying on a local CL when we purchased it so will probably go back to the same one - couple of miles away, although home is only 30 miles away so not too bad
